Hi from another new member

Post by Mhairi (SO) »

Hi

I'm so glad to have found this forum and hope to learn from and contribute to it.

I'm the girlfriend of a cross-dresser in a fairly new relationship. He told me about himself approximately 6 weeks after meeting and it was a bit of a shock initially, although I hid my reaction as best I could. We have continued to see each other these past few months since then and things are going well so far. I have seen pictures of him 'en femme' and I've seen him dressed, although without the wig and make-up so far.

Although new to this forum, I've read a lot on the internet and understand that he cannot change the way he is. I think that it is his female side that attracted me to him in the first place and I want to understand a bit more and hopefully avoid, or at least understand the pitfalls that might be ahead of us.

I feel that everything's happening very fast and that in my efforts to be supportive and understanding I'm not giving myself time to think about how I really feel, if that makes any sense!

Anyway, hope to make some friends here as I don't feel I can talk about any of this to my family or friends.

Mhairi,

-wel- to the forum!

If you haven't done so already, send a PM to either Saron(SO) or Beauty to get admission to the SO only area. You will find people there who have been there, done that, and share experiences.

Please don't ignore the other sections, either. We value the input of GGs.

Hi Mhairi! :)

I think that all you said makes a lot of sense. I remember my gf telling me about that too in the beginning. After I told her about my crossdressing there was almost too much information available and it was partly my fault because I wanted to show her all the tv programs I´d taped earlier about crossdressing. I also printed dozens and dozens of articles about the subject for her to read. She was interested and wanted to know as much as possible but not so fast.
It may well have been his feminine side which you were attracted to in the beginning. My dear gf often says that she couldn´t have found a better man than me and that she really loves me because I´m not a macho type at all. We can surf the online shops and order women´s clothing for both of us, talk about make-up and other girl stuff and I never rush her when she´s doing her hair or putting on make-up when we are going somewhere beacuse I understand that those things take time! :)
I´m glad you understand that he´s not going to change. He´s always a crossdresser but he´s also a man who is very happy to have met a woman like you. :) An understanding gf or wife is every crossdresser´s dream.

All the best to you and -wel- to this forum!

Hello Mhairi, nice of you to join us.
I feel that everything's happening very fast and that in my efforts to be supportive and understanding I'm not giving myself time to think about how I really feel, if that makes any sense!
Don't be afraid to ask your BF to slow down if he is going to fast for you. Let him know you need to adjust to your new feelings, and hopefully he will understand.

Has he joined this site?

Hi again

No, he hasn't joined this site. He knows I research everything on the internet though, so it won't come as a surprise to know I've joined a group like this.

I don't think he's rushing me at all, more like I'm trying to run before I can walk! I feel I have accepted it too well and I'm worried about crashing and burning. I would hate to be totally accepting and then disappoint him further down the line when other feelings may kick in. I only say this from having read how other SO's describe the rollercoaster ride.

I've never met anyone like him before and I don't want to get hurt, nor hurt him in the process. He has 'come out' to previous girlfriends and, although he doesn't go out dressed, keeping it private, he seems quite comfortable with it. In fact, I don't feel that special that he has confided in me as he has done so with other girlfriends. Hmm, how selfish is that? I want to be the special one for him as he is special to me. By the way, we are not youngsters - we are both in our early forties although he has never been married.

I want to learn as much as I can and thank you for all your replies.
