I give up!

Ok, ok, I give up! I've been lurking here for a very long time and you all seem to be so nice and friendly to each other that I couldn't stand not posting any longer.
I'm in my mid-50's and have been fascinated with certain items of female attire since about the age of 7. I have played around with it a few times in years past, but really got into it in a big way about a year ago. At that time, I was only interested in acquiring heels and hose. My wife, being a real buddy, took me shopping, even though she didn't want to. She told me later that when she saw me putting on my four inch heels for the first time, she was so upset that she almost "threw up". Within a few weeks, however, we found ourselves shopping for entire outfits, and now I'm embarrassed at the size of my wardrobe. We have had no end of fun shopping together. Initially we were very careful, but the other day she said "Oh, what the heck" and held a nightgown up against me to see if it was my size.
We now just seem to have one irreconcilable difference -- I like knee length skirts and she wants me to wear micro-minis! I don't know if we'll ever get together on this, but what the heck! You can't have everything!
We are both sad that it's not this way for some others that we have read about here. Maybe in some way we can make a difference.
I'm looking forward to participating in some of the discussions, and you may see my wife on here also. Her name is Mrs.Missy.
Best regards......Missy

Sounds like your wife's really cool. Hey, if you got the legs for them, mini's are great! Micro-minis, however, . . . Oh, go ahead, have fun.

welcome Missy,
I'm always amazed at the age most of the girls first realize this is the way they are. i'm a late bloomer, realizing the same thing at the age of 45, at least when i admitted to it. i usually don't have time to read a lot of the post, but i always enjoy reading the new member forum.

Thanks very much to all for the warm welcomes: DonnaT, ElizabethAnn, SophieLawson, Sue, CJ and Love.
Love - since you're a moderator, maybe you can answer a couple of questions. Mrs.Missy just tried to sign up, using our e-mail address, which of course is the same as mine, and the registration was rejected due to this. I don't know how else that she can post and have her name show up as "SO". Do you have any advice?
Also, we don't seem to be able to get into the photoalbum section. Thanks a lot!

Go to Yahoo and sign up for a free email address. Mrs Missy can use that.
You need to re-register for the gallery. Just re-register with the same screen names and passwords. Then you can log in.

Hi Missy, don't feel bad my wife is always holding cloths up to me in the store and saying I think you would look good in this. Hay it doesn't bother me if fact we both laugh if someone should look our way with a funny look on thier face.

Hi Missy,
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner
I just wanted to double check with "Beauty" before I gave you an answer (as I'm not too computer savvy

but I am learning

)

Donna's suggestions are correct (thanks Donna

)
You can create a free yahoo account or hot-mail account for your wife to use, so she can also join the forum.
we don't seem to be able to get into the photo album section.
The photo gallery is a separate registry from the forum's

Hi Missy, Im green with envy. I wish my wife would participate in my dressing. She hasnt bought me a thing in 24 years together.
I cant imaging just starting in my fifties. Im in my fifties too, but have been participating for over 40 years.
U should have two wardrobes. I have three. One is Miss mid 50's style. Two is Frothy Gowns, and Three is sassy minidresses and mini skirts.
Why not?
We do this by choice, so enjoy it while u can!!!
Looking frward to having meaningful discussions with you.

Hi Missy,
Seems that a lot of us "come out" , dare I say, "later in life." I don't know if it is "giving up" or that we just finally reach a point in life where we can say "this is me and if you can't deal with it, don't let the door hit you in the butt on your way out!"
Welcome. Missy!

Hi everyone!
DonnaT, yes my wife is really cool. She claims I've got the legs, but I never looked at them that way. I guess we're compromising at 19" on the skirt length. That way, when I sit down, it's still tasteful.
Sophie and Sue, thanks! I am enjoying myself greatly here. We enjoy associating with nice people.
Love, you'll be hearing from Mrs. Missy shortly as soon as we decide how we want to handle her login so it shows (SO).
Carol Ann, we're not quite as carefree as you are yet, but we may not be far from it! LOL!
Kerry, sorry to hear that your wife doesn't participate. If you don't mind my asking, has your wife rejected this idea? Maybe getting her on this forum with the SO's would help. Also, I never thought about a division in styles of my wardrobe, but I guess I have a little of everything that you mentioned, and like you said, why not!
Virginia, how are things in the Star City? Is your "first star to the right" on Mill Mountain?
Beauty, I am glad I gave up and joined the forum.
