My second wife was the one that called me Ruth.
My Mother always told me that if I had been born a girl, she would have called me Wilma. That was a fairly common name 50 odd years ago when I was born. I will stick with Ruth.
Bofore anyone asks, yes, my mother wanted a girl as I was the second child. She didn't dress me as a girl but did make sure I learned to cook, sew,do laundry etc. and all of these things helped me in later life.
I will post about how I started.

Welcome aboard Ruth. Sometimes I wish I could sew, sure would come in handy when my wife doesn't want to make something for me.
Looking forward to hearing more about your start.

Pleased to meet, Ruth. Sisters in austerity we are, trapped in the social wilderness that is the Prarie... I am glad you have come to join this very accepting and supportive space.

Nice to meet you Ruth, and yes this is a great place. Alberta, spent most of my life there, but the winters are long in the north. Enjoy the forum, the girls are very friendly and nice.

Hi Ruth--
I like your second wife's choice for a name much better than your mother's. I forget that people are lurking out there, but I'm glad you came on board. It's much better when you can put fingers on the keyboard every once in a while, and chime in.

I admit that I like this name better than my mother's idea.
It was my second wife that started me dressing again after so many years. She needed to alter a dress for a special occasion and talked me into wearing it while she pinned it up. She instantly loved the idea!
A few days later she went shopping and came home with everything from panties to stockings and garters to a couple of dresses. It took some doing to get me to wear any of it but..............the old history thing.
Thanks again to all for the warm welcome.
