I sort of stumbled across this forum a couple of weeks ago and started reading some of the posts to get a flavor of the discussions. I really like what I have been reading so I decided to join.... Then I had to make my avitar!! First things first!

Let me tell you a little bit about myself.

My name is Robyn and live in Southern California. I recently turned 50 and have been crossdressing since early puberty. I married when I was 24 and thought like most cders that marriage would "cure" me. Well, it didn't... Throughout my marriage I attempted to tell my wife in a variety of ways about my cding without success. This was way before the Internet and the ability to go find information about anything. My knowledge of what cding was at that time consisted a lot of what was found in psychology textbooks or in trashy magazines. There just wasn't a whole lot of good, mainstream information available.

After getting online (Compuserve @ 1200 baud!), I started finding a whole lot of great information as well as finding out about other local cders. I was able to meet some and Robyn quickly came out into the light. I started buying things and started going out in public and to local meetings. My wife did NOT like the cding AT ALL and it was the source of many fights. She slowly came to accept it, started buying clothes for me, attended SPICE one year, and even joined a husband/wives group. She was really okay with it. Unfortunately, the fighting over it and many other non-cd things caused a major rift in our marriage. I have now been divorced for seven years. My two kids are now adults and they were never told about my cding and they won't be told...

I have been dating a wonderful, beautiful woman for quite awhile now. She isn't too keen about the cding but we've been talking and talking. We are still trying to find a way to integrate it successfully into our relationship. Wish me luck!

Hello Robyn,

I also want to welcome you here and thanks for your story. I am sure the members here will provide you as much help as they did for me.

BTW - I made up a new thought on that "healing" from CDing issue.
I think it is vice versa - accepting my CDing really cured my human being and my wife improved it with her acceptance and support.
Now I feel more complete, as the female part is alive and I do not need to hide from the most important person in my life.

Hugs,

Jabbela

welcome

Thank you for the complement!

Once one gets an invite from AARP, it is kinda hard not to talk about age...

I used to think, "Why would anyone want a grey wig?" Now I understand... Not that I would ever use one....

Hi Robyn! :) -wel- Sounds good that you´re talking a lot with your lady friend. After all it´s the only way to make things work.
All the best to both of you!

Funny story, to me anyway, my wife just had a birthday last month and got an AARP invite, yet I'm older and never got one.
