Hi from the SF Bay Area

Post by Marlena Dahlstrom »

Hi all,

Some of you have probably know me from other forums and groups.

I've lived on the Pennisula for the past two years, after transplanting from LA. Still miss my beaches (having to wear a parka to the beach is just wrong  ).

Usual story about CDing. Started pre-adolescence and been doing it off-and-on for years. Never felt hugely guilty about it, it's just that my dressing seems to run in phases. Have no desire to transition -- the thought of SRS makes me reflexively cross my legs protectively.

Was a workaholic for years so never married or had a relationship that was seriousness enough that I considered coming out. (Now that I'm celebrating the anniversaries of my 39th birthday I decided that while I still love what I do, work isn't the center of my life.) Work for myself so I can mostly dress when I want.

Earlier this year, I decided it was finally time to get out of the house, so realized it was time to take skill in dressing and make-up up a notch if I didn't want to be laughed at. Got that together, ventured out first to some local TG groups and then solo and haven't looked back and now I go out most weeks. What's the point in living near one of the most T-friendly cities in the world if you can't make use of it?

Anyway, looking forward to talking to ya'll.

Hi Darla--
As one of the other SF bay gals on here, let me welcome you! Yes, I'd like to make better use of San Francisco, too. I'll be playing at both the Harrison St. fair, and the Folsom St. fair. So make it a point to get one of them and introduce yourself!

Hello Darla, -wel- to this forum.

Oh, and since you're new here, Anita will look like Anita when playing her quitar, if you make it to the fair.

Hi Darla!

Being about the same age as you are and after almost 20 years of running my own business I must say, !!!yes!!! with you. I still like my work but there are other things more important nowadays. My wife, my hobbies, my CDing etc.
It´s nice to hear that you can dress when you want and go out too.
Good to have you as a member :)
