Thanks, Donna. There's a lot to take in there. Some of these reports have a very negative way of looking at transgendered people. Reminds me of Janet Raymond's The Transsexual Empire. That was sure hard reading--basically, she felt that transwomen perpetuated stereotypes of women, and that they, (the TS women) were interested in taking women's power away by taking on their bodies. Interesting, though, that a repeat customer of mine was one of the editors of that particular book. I've always liked working for her, and she seemed OK with the idea that I performed as a woman. Like anything else, if you get to know someone who is part of "those people over there," you can understand them a lot better.
