Award-winning filmmaker Antony Thomas (HBO's Celibacy) explores the controversial subject of the blurring of genders, as well as the serious social and family problems faced by those whose gender may fall somewhere in between male and female. Premieres Tuesday, December 6 at 9:30 p.m. .

I just finished watching the documentary. Excellent piece!
I especially enjoyed the depictions of how other cultures around the world have a much more tolerant attitude towards transgenderism. I think we can all agree that Western Society has a lot to learn!

I finally got to see this yesterday morning on HBO On Demand. It was very informative. I disliked the opening somewhat, an "Autopsy"-style examination of the murder of Gwen Araujo, but that segued into less confrontational material.
It's one thing to know that we are all part of a rainbow of different shades, but it's quite different to see an array of all the colors like that. I'd heard of the katoey and the hijras, but I didn't know quite as much as I thought about either. I hope that the boy Noah they profiled at the beginning has a long happy life, whatever he decides to do.
