LOL.. Pitfall online.

I wish you'd found it. :)

Lorna, do you play online? Do you have a PS2 or X-box?

If you're an 80s video game junky like I am... those of you who grew up on games like Pac Man, Frogger, Centipede, Donkey Kong, Asteroids & all the classics... this site is a GREAT timewaster during those slow days at work.... heh heh heh :P

Hey Beauty, I also found the link for Pitfall on the page, but they just recently took it down...

You are so right, even racing games are going team based now a days. There is nothing better then all running down a corridor on say Rainbow Six and shouting down the voice mics as an enemy rounds the corner. Brilliant stuff :) Online gaming has changed the way I view games and the types of games I buy, I was never into FPS before I got xbox live.

I've never tried online games. I imagine it can be fun, though. I once was the kind of person capable of taking your pay check with poker, and did so with anyone who was stupid enough to play against me.

No longer having those kinds of interests, I need a different reason to play games. When I do I tend to tease the other person, and that usually gets in the way. With the last person I played cribbage with after wining 10 to 15 games in a row, he told me that I had a bad attitude. This person is a person who is considered good at cribbage and in fact runs a tournament.

I immediately quit playing with him, and have not gotten involved again although I have had many opportunities. It is just not worth it for me. It dose not hold my interest.

If I play a game at all, I prefer to play face to face in person. But, I find most computer games these days to be not particulary entertaining and nearly as good at wasting my time as television.

I recently posted elsewhere...give me a good book and a cat in my lap and I'm in heaven.

Yeah, Sophie... that's exactly what I'm afraid of! :P

Currently playing on my XBox: Breakdown, Dino Crisis 3, The Suffering.

Lorna,

You're an 80s arcade game junkie? So am I, girl! Super Mario Bros, Joust, Gauntlet, Space Harrier, etc. I worked in a video game arcade (a clean one, I should add--no hanky-panky) while I was in school, from '92 to '96. All that Aeromith Revolution X kind of crapola never did it for me. I miss the 80s stuff. Do you have an emulator installed on your PC, Lorna? I've been playing Time Pilot as well as Moon Patrol on my PC. It's a blast!

As far as online gaming goes, I'm not a big fan. Too many hotheads out there. Even in action games, I tend to prefer stealth and deliberate exploration. There's nothing so frustrating as getting blown away repeatedly as soon as you respawn. However, I do enjoy local multiplayer, whether on linked systems or in split-screen mode.

Beauty suggested I try games such as The Sims Online. I've yet to do that (I'm not confident enough yet in my ability to "get the girl" :P ). Still, I'll have to get around to it, sooner or later, I suppose.

Kathy,

I also enjoy face to face gaming. I have a huge collection of board and puzzle games, both classic and contemporary. Right now, they're gathering dust (I have a beautiful Dragon Tree plant in the kitchen, but it's not very good at playing Pictionary).

Love,
15-2, 15-4, 15-6 and the pair is CJ!

The junkiest of the junkies!

I loved Super Mario & Sonic, but Joust was one of my favorites! I also loved Missile Command. Remembner a gamne called Jungle Hunt? That game was very simplistic skillwise & graphicswise (even for the early 80s) but I had a blast playing it! Someone was actually selling the actual physical arcade game on eBay. I didn't buy it becuse I'd have no room to put it. :?

The only video game I liked in the 90s was Mortal Kombat. Sub Zero & Rayden were my fave characters on that game!

That I do! I also have Arachnoid and Moon Patrol on my PC as well! They're also great on rainy days when my niece or nephew pays a visit. :)

Hi all,

Lorna,

A Mortal Kombat gal, eh? I'll know that's true if you tell me you've seen the film or own the Orbital soundtrack! :P I was such a player that I'd even hear Scorpion's voice in my dreams..."COME HERE!" he'd bellow, as he pulled me towards him with his chain.

Here's a real gender test: Did you go for Fatalities or Babalities?

Love,
CJ

I to cut my teeth on Atari in the video game revolution. I used to spend many hours on Atari, Itelivision, Nintendo, PS, Arcade ect. ect. Computers are the next step. Online gamning is great for almost all type of play. Gaming is always better with a group also and online makes that possible. I recently bought City Of Heroes, A MMPRPG. It's very interactive I.E. you get to make your own Character, Costume. Hmmmm a CD gaming League I bet we would be the best dressed

I've been a gamer since the word go. My first electronic game was Pong, that Dad built from a kit in the 70s. Next came an Odyssey 2 system. Afterwards came Colecovision. We also got the Adam computer system, that lasted until we got our first PC. With high school came Nintendo and Sega. After I moved away from home, I contented myself with playing arcade games. I loved all the different fighting games, but didn't really come into my own until Namco introduced the first version of Soul Edge.

I got my first home system five years ago, after moving to Charlotte. I bought the N64. I followed up a couple of years ago with the Gamecube, but I haven't bought many games. My current favorites are "Rebel Strike" and "SoulCalibur 2". I've been thinking about buying either a PS2 or an Xbox, but I need a new computer more.

Online, I play some games on Pogo. One of my favorites there is Tank Hunter, a simple vector graphics combat game, a lot like the old Battlezone.
