Does your name inspire you to wear a particular outfit?

Killing time a few days ago I happened to wonder what my names meant, so bounced off to behindthename.com to have a look. Amanda - "Created in the 17th century by the playwright Colley Cibber, who based it on Latin amanda meaning "lovable"."

great start! Now for Louise - French feminine form of Luis from the German 'Ludwig' from the Germanic 'Hludwig' meaning "famous warrior". Hmm, maybe not so good. Time for a bit of lateral thinking.

What famous warriors do I know? Better still, what famous female warriors do I know? Boudicea ... no, too difficult to spell. The Amazons? Yeah! Amanda Louise the lovable Amazon.

Anyone know where I can buy an Amazon outfit? Plus size*.

What does your name inspire you to wear? And why?

The only influence my Fem name has on me in regards to dressing, is that when I dress I want to feel like a darling.

I like that.

My name definitly has something to do with my dressing, well my last name anyway. I dress in black goth clothing which fits with my last name, Laveau, the Voodoo Queen. My name didn't influence my dressing, but my dressing influenced my name.

Kerri changes her name more often than her outfits. I always detested my boy name. (James) maybe that inspired me to dress in ballgowns, the nearest I can get to period gowns e.g. the period of King James I and King James II.

If you're really interested in costumes from that period, there are patterns as well as a few vendors who sell them in plus sizes. Check out Chivalry Sports; they carry a large line of all sorts of Ren and medieval clothing in a large range of sizes.
