***** SENIOR DRIVER ****

My neighbor was working in his yard when he was startled by a late model car that came crashing through his hedge and ended up in his front lawn.

He rushed to help an elderly lady driver out of the car and sat her down on a lawn chair.

He said with excitement, "You appear quite elderly to be driving."

"Well, yes, I am," she replied proudly.

"I'll be 97 next month, and I am now old enough that I don't even need a driver's license anymore. The last time I went to my doctor, he examined me and asked if I had a driver's license. I told him yes and handed it to him.

He took scissors out of the drawer, cut the license into pieces, and threw it in the waste basket, saying, 'You won't need this anymore,' so I thanked him and left!"

Yeah, that's a good one, and being an RN one I am familiar with.

Good story, but at 73 I'm beginning to be concerned for myself as a driver in future years.

I currently have a tendency to drift in the direction I'm looking, but that's always quickly compensated for. But I'm watching me, and I'd better not deteriorate any faster than I already am.

Paulette, have you been racing again?

I have heard that race car drivers are told that if they loose control they will head for what they are looking at. If looking at the wall then they will find the wall, if looking at the infield then they will go to the infield.

About a week ago, I went to town on an errand.
As I came to the stop light in my Subdivision where the street
meets the main hi way, there was a car with two elderly people in the front seat.
They stop the car about 4 car lengths from the line on the street.
Another car came upon, and went around them to get in front of them.
When the light turned green, we all proceeded on are way, but not the
car with the two in the front seat.
As I left the intersection, I could see in my rear view mirror, they would be sitting
there for the next light.
I wonder how long they sat there?
