That's great!!! I love it.
True story, a friend of mine, many years ago wrecked his new pick-up, I mean totalled!! It piroited on the front bumper, flipped several times and actually almost broke in half. When the HywPD got to the scene he was absolute amazed - standing there next to his truck crying like a baby and not a scratch on him, the cop asked, "Are you drunk?" Answer and it is a classic:"God, I hope so, I would sure hate to think I could do something like that sober!"

Hi Virginia!!! :)
O'geeze that was a great story about your friend. ..rofl.. ..rofl.. ..rofl..
Even better that he wasn't hurt, at least not in his body, but maybe his pride. :P

Couple of friends of mine were on their way to work in a company vehicle, hit a patch of ice (was in the winter, natch) lost control and went flipping bumper to bumper like that. One had a bruise on his shoulder from the seat belt, the other thought he was bleeding, 'til he realized it was the warm coffee he had been drinking running down his face!! Sometimes we can be lucky, eh?

Carolynn,
I was doing my student teaching out side of Nashville, Tn. It had snowed and sleeted the night before and the sun had barely come up when I turned off the interstate and started through a gap cut in a hill - solid ice!
Three cars were coming the other direction, but when they saw me start to spin they stopped and bailed out, not sure what I would end up doing!
That car spun in directions that were physically impossible, all I could do was "enjoy the ride!" When I got to the other side of the gap, my car was in the right lane, facing the direction I was going and just like nothing happened, as I drove past the very surprised motorist, I got a standing ovation as I drove past! All I could do was smile!! What a ride!!

Hi Virginia!!! :)

That sounds like some ride!!!!!!! ..OO.. Glad you were able to ride it out successfully!!! I once drove 210 miles after a three day freezing rain/sleet storm, about half with over 6 inches of ice on the road, and everywhere else (left my skates home too!!). [-o< My only excuse for such stupidity is cabin fever, big time!!! For the first 150 miles (at 15 miles per hour for the most part, and that was pushing it) I was the only car on the road!! #-o Everyone else was too smart to join me. Took pretty much all day, though the last 40 miles I had a two track single lane goin' my way. Felt like a boulevard.

I was driving back to collage after a winter break and hit a section of highway where the was huge ice holes and then pavement. I lost control of the car and started spining out hit an ice pack wall on the side of the rode causing me spin more. Once I stopped I was facing the wrong with cars comming toward me but luckly at a slow pace so I turned around and pulled onto the shoulder and got out and looked at the damage. BOY was that bad the fender and grill where damaged was eletrical system but the car was still driveable. :) But now I was in race against the sun to get back to the collage before it got to dark out. I got to the town and only had to make a left turn the sun had set (I was using a large flashlight to try and show people I am there) I started making that left turn and I get stuck on black ice and 2 ton was barraling down on me. I got my car skuted ahead just enough that he nicked my rear bumper pushing me off the ice patch. I got into the parking lot I took anouther look at the car and could not believe my little 1980 toyota celica is still running.
