I know I did this topic a few years back but let's try it again. Do you have a favorite Christmas tradition?

Mine is the family portrait. I have them going all the way back to 1986, the year my family and I reconciled. Sadly it is the only one my mother is in as she passed away in 1987. As the holidays get close I get them out and go over them. Yes a few tears come to me as I think about those no longer with us but I also get a smile as I think about all the good times past.

So there's mine, what is yours?

My Christmas Tradition would be getting together with family and friends. It does not always happen on Christmas with trying to mesh everyone's schedules, but we always find a time to get together.

My favorite tradition is probably more recent. For me it is going to midnight services on Christmas Eve then coming home and opening a single gift from my love as she does the same from me while we enjoy a glass of wine. *^^*

We watch It's A Wonderful Life and White Christmas with a bottle of wine while we wrap our presents on Christmas eve. Usually is a long night.

Not sure it qualifies as a Christmas tradition but every year a group of us get together for a bonfire and a couple bottles of wine on the beach about this time of the year. Yes there are Christmas toasts and wishes but it is as much just getting together. Well that and being thankful we are not in the cold and snow! rotf

Mine may be even more recent than Sarah's. Spending the evening with the man I love, just the two of us. No menu, no agenda, no plans just munchies and goodies and a bottle of wine or two. I love spending time with family and friends but without him in my life there would be a huge emptiness. *;*;*
