Some time ago, I ran across a section that talked about permission to re-post material from here. I've looked in announcements, the rules, and Ask Us, and have not found this particular section again.
I'll be building a website. Can I put some of my posts on there? I won't be using the replies, just the original post. I intend to put a reference as to where it originally appeared.

Hi all,
Anita,
Although we'll need to hear from The Powers That Be on this issue, I can't imagine that excerpting your own writing is objectionable. It violates no intellectual property rights that I know of.
I think the section on forum material reprint you were thinking of had to do with a student school project. The student had asked the Admins if they could excerpt material from the forum. If I remember correctly, Beauty checked out the student's (and the school's) credentials. In the end (again, if I remember correctly), it was decided that permission should be withheld, as concern for the privacy of forum members held center court.
But your situation is different. Even though you'd be transporting "forum words" elsewhere, they're your words, not anyone else's. Plus, well, you'd have the trust that's earned from being "on the inside," so to speak. Anyway, these are just some of my own thoughts on the matter. It'll be up to Sharon and/or Beauty to have a final say.
Good luck with your web site!
Love,
CJ
