Being a tall girl, I :? try  to keep the heel sizes low. But really pretty shoes that coordinate are often not flats. Plus, I admit wearing heels is fun. Like Maggie, I like ankle straps on occasion also, something few men get to try outside of the thick Birkenstocks.

Hi,

I voted for 3 inch, although in almost 3 years of CDing, I haven't reached that height yet. I think my highest heel shoes are 2 1/2 inches.

I'm 5 foot 11, so I don't need them too high.

Also, my wife told me that if I wanted to wear heels (she doesn't) and fell and broke an ankle, I'd be one of the biggest attactions at the emergency room

Hi,

I am 6 ft and like three inch heels the best. They give me a nice walk and my proportions look the best. I have some 2 and a halves and they are more comfortable to shop.

For those who have only shopped by mail, Payless employees treat me rather good here. I have really been shocked at how nice these women have been. A young clerk and a clerk closer to my age helped me to pick out a nice purse last month, while dressed male. I have shopped and tried shoes on, also as Kersten about 6 times now in both our stores. I have much more often tried shoes when drab.

I still have not met a woman that did not accept me shopping as male or female. Those here that know me know how much I worried and fretted about cruel treatment from our very conservative area.

Hugs,
Kersten

KimberlyS,

Can you walk on them? I think I have a nice fluid walk in 3". I think I may hurt myself if I tried to walk on 5" heels. It would probably be fun to try!

Well, I have 1 pair of 5" heels, all the way down to 1". I can definately walk better in the lower heels (up to about 3"), but I have done the 100 yard dash in the 5" when a kid was unexpectedly coming through the door, and not killed myself. I love the feel of the 5" heels, even 4" feels pretty good. 3" or lower is almost like normal, because I wear boots when in male mode. There is kind of a nice(and sad) story behind the 5" heels I have. My SO at the time, her dad died, and she and I went shopping for appropriate funeral wear for her. We picked out a beautiful black velvet dress. She had the black thigh highs with the seam running down the back (drool), and then we found these pair of heels. Black strappy sandals with 5" heel. I fell in love with these shoes. After the funeral she let me try them on (she knew about, and enjoyed my CDing). Then on father's day that year, she got me a present, I opened it, and low and behold, she got me an identical pair. I was floored. Not only did I totally love them, but this was the first femme gift anyone ever gave me. Nothing says "I accept you" like a pair of 5" stillettos on Father's Day.

Laura Ashcroft,

That was so nice! I do know what you mean.

I will have to keep my eyes open for some 4" heels. I don't know. All I have seen on the internet are too expensive for me. I did measure and found I did have one pair of 3.5 red round toe, baby doll type shoe. I think that is what they are called. I have only worn them at home. I don't think I could get very far, if I were trying to shop. I have been out in my 3" pumps and sandals.

I've got three pairs with 4" heels, including one with a platform (makes the heel really about 2-2.5"). The rest of mine are in the 2.5-3" range. Other than sneakers and a pair of flip-flops, I don't own any flat shoes. Can't stand them.

Kersten you asked:

"Can you walk on them? I think I have a nice fluid walk in 3". I think I may hurt myself if I tried to walk on 5" heels. It would probably be fun to try! "

Yes I can walk in the 5inch heels from the first time I put them on. But i can only wear them for an hour or two at a time. I do not wear them alot so my feet do not get use to wearing them. Just like a GG my feet begin to tell me "What are you doing". If i would ever want to wear them for a long period of time I am sure I would have to spend some time getting use to them more. As i currently only dress about once a month or so. And it has been about a year or so since i have had the 5" heels on.

I usually wear a 3 to 1 inch heel which is much more sensible espesially when one is not use to walking in heels.

I recently bought myself a pair of pink 2 inch pumps. I really wanted a pair of pumps with 3 inch heels, but the store I went to didn't have any. Yes, I could have went to another shoe store, but I didn't want the hassle of sales staff.

I have only recently started wearing 3" heels. I can't believe how comfortable I am with them. Don't know if I want to go any higher or not, a broken ankle would not be easily explained to my peers.
