Just a thought! Today, I saw a guy fairly up close. You know guys don't pay any attention to how other guys look or dress to any great degree - right? Well Virginia has awakened in me another feminine characteristic that has me looking at men (NO NOT LIKE THAT!?) but just looking and this guy maybe 160 -170 pounds with a full, scruffy beard, scraggly hair, jeans, your (for this area) typical redneck type driving a pick 'em up truck.
The thing that caught my attention though was his eyes. Now a few GG's I have know had them -what I call "bedroom eyes!" those "come heither, take me!" looking eyes! This guy had them and I think most of us and most GG's would have killed for a pair of baby blues like that!!!!!!
What got me to thinking was my friend Brandi came to mind. She went through the "do the guy thing" stage. Cars, killing wild animals for sport, chasing women! - whatever and yes I know he may just be "lucky" to have been born with those eyes, but you gotta know he looks in the mirror and I know for sure every girl her talks to drools over his eyes! Could it be that a lot of these "trolls" with the overly masculine appearance have " the gift" but just can not handle it and go about supressing or repressing it by this approach of over masculinity??

They do say that a lot of CDs who are not comfortable with it tend to overcompensate, which is why there are supposed to be so many of us in the military. Or it could just be how the guy was raised and how he feels comfortable.

Rednecks are as human as anyone else and we really ought not put them down for their appearance. SOmetimes it seems like they are the only group left that it is okay to make fun of. Intolerance is another thing but all groups have intolerance.

There was a great book a while ago called The Solace Of Empty Spaces which among other things talked about just how emotional and talkative cowboys are if only you know how to listen.

But I use the term affectionately and for descriptive purposes only. In SW Virginia we have and are proud of all our rednecks. The descriptive purpose was to segregate this individual from the three piece suit, banker, accountant. etc. The point was as you so eloquently stated was the over - compensation aspect and could it be!?
