What would you do?

My wife's going down to Houston on the 31st for a quilters convention.
I'll have to get up early to take her to the airport, which means I'll be able to leave work early enough to get home and hand out candy, traffic allowing.
She doesn't want me too, but I thought it would be a good opportunity to dress up, maybe in my maid's outfit, to had the candy out.
What would you do?

If she doesn't want you to...

And if she hears about it from the neighbors, I'll bet she'll be upset.

Not do it.

Given that you two do talk about these things, and that your actions will likely impact her as it will be your neighbors you will be interacting with, if she feels strongly I think you should respect her wishes.
You get to dress up after the trick or treaters are gone anyway right?

Sorry, Donna, I'd have to go with your wife's druthers on this one. If she was going to be around to negotiate with on the night of the 31st, then I'd say, "maybe." The outfit might be a little too racy for kids, too.

I have to second with Anita.....
I would feel weird wearing a French Maid outfit and passing out candy, but that's me.
Sorry I can't support you on this one, Donna.

Donna,
I know you'd just love to dress up at home for Hallowe'en this year, but I feel you should respect the wife's wishes this time. I agree with what everyone was saying above, and for the same reasons.
You'll have enough opportunities to dress up for Hallowe'en parties this year - with at least 2 parties at Fielden's, and possibly others.
Maybe next year, Donna?!?

Sadly, you are all correct.
I'm sure the neighbors would comment on how good my costume was, to my wife, and the jig would be up. Then she'd be back on her way to Texas permanent like.
I may wear it to fielden's next weekend. We'll see.
