Not sure how many of you caught this but on Ugly Betty the "mysterious woman" is going to turn out to be Daniel's brother Alex who has had surgery to transform himself into a woman! According to TV Guide they are going to explore his transformation.

Stay tuned......

I like Ugly Betty all by itself but this could be fascinating....

Hi ladies
Ugly Betty is a very good program. To bring a storyline about a transsexual is a pretty gutsy move by the network on a hit TV show. I love it. They better brace themselves from an attack by the religious right! Or as I call them, the religious wrong. Life is carnival so enjoy the ride. Hugs

Love

Good on you Lisa. I do not know why these people insist on ignoring the TG talent available to them.

A number of TG'd people are creative and it is a shame to overlook the opportunity to enjoy a sincere performance.

I don't get it and don't think I ever will.

Joann, What is Boston Legal doing? I saw James Spader on Ellen a couple of months ago and he was saying how much he enjoyed dressing up as a woman on the show because of the feel of the hosiery and he had more wardrobe options...hmmm. :-k

Remember the "Will and Grace" shows. There were a few shows that had crossdressing in them. I remember on show where they went to a drag queen show. The queen was great. You could tell it was a real queen and not a GG actor. Then there was the show where a crossdressing clothing store was having problems shipping items and Wil's father stepped in and showed them how to ship the items in non-discrpt packaging and even modeled a dress.
I think we are starting to see more and more Transgenderism in TV shows. Event he soaps are getting into it now.

Lisa, the firm has hired an office assistant who is very reserved while homme.......... but, when he turns on the femme side, look out. Originally she / he came in to file a suit against an employer and now he/she has been on a couple of shows. And then.......... in some comming attractions, James is standing there all dolled up..........have to watch the next episode.....

King of the Hill, the animated show, had a crossdresser as its main character Sunday night.

Peggy, the wife of "King," met a woman while shopping. The woman was the most sympathetic person she had ever known, and they became great friends. Of course, the "woman" was a crossdresser who thought Peggy was also a man since they met in a store that catered to crossdressers.

Angst ensued when Peggy found out her "girl" friend was a man, but she wound up meeting a whole group of crossdressers and accepted them as "normal" people.

All-in-all, a pretty sympathetic protrayal.

On the Boston Legal side of things..... Elayne and I caught last weeks episode and loved it. The CD was told that a woman would love him for him and then she became the one to fall for him/her. They wrote it very well I thought. She got a little upset when the femme side came out and defended her, which his shy homme side would not. It shows the GG's view on baby steps. She asked for him to speak from his heart not hers at the end of the episode. I can't wait to see how they take this!

James Spader made a gorgeous CD!!

Sorry to ramble and some of my thoughts may not be too coherent but Clonozapam does that to me.
