For most women, the choice between sex and a new wardrobe is simple -- they go for the clothes.
Women on average say they would be willing to give up sex for 15 months for a closet full of new apparel, with 2 percent ready to abstain from sex for three years in exchange for new duds, according to a new survey of about 1,000 women in 10 U.S. cities.
Sixty-one percent of women polled said it would be worse to lose their favorite article of clothing than give up sex for a month.
"Some people say clothes make the man, but the right clothes can even replace him," fashion designer, stylist and TV personality Carson Kressley from the reality TV show "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" said in a statement accompanying the poll.
The study also suggested that clothes often wear better than relationships.
The average woman between 18 and 54 years of age has hung on to her favorite article of clothing for 12 and a half years, a year longer than she's held on to her longest relationship.
Almost three-quarters of respondents, or 70 percent, also said they believed in love at first sight when it came to finding the perfect article of clothing, while only 54 percent of women were as confident in spotting the right man.
Nearly half of the women, or 48 percent, taking part in the survey by consumer products giant Unilever said their favorite article of clothing was more reliable than their man in giving them confidence and making them feel sexy.

No wonder we find women so difficult to deal with if this is how they feel about us......
Seriously. Some of these statistics are a bit misleading. Like love at first sight. Hopefully you put more care into selecting a mate than in selecting a new dress. And I have guy clothes that I have had longer than I have known my wife, even though we have been married over 20 years. I also have a hammer and saw that I have had for longer than any of the clothes, and I have a bureau that I have had since I was 3. But I don't think the bureau is more reliable than my wife.
Some days I spend more time with my model railroad than I do with my wife. But usually it's because she's out of town. Even so she gets jealous of the trains once in a while.

"More mature members?" I don't know if anyone watches the show "What Not to Wear" but there is a sign the shows up between sets in each show. "No Mini-skirts after 35!" How many televisions have I thrown a chair through when I see that? Well, I have thought about it, anyway. I want to choke them for even thinking that. It's the old adage girls, "If you got it - flaunt it!" I have the legs for mini's and so I will wear them until my SO says "NO!" and I am a bit farther from 35 than I care to admit!
As for sex vs. clothes, well, SL is not here looking over my shoulder so I dare not even go there other than to say "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" and DAMN!!!!!! we do!!!!
Guess its like math, to get the right answer you just have to have the right formula!!!! and in this relationship 1+1 does equal WOW!!!!

PS: SL and I love clothes - and I won't say any more because she said I may get taken to the woodshed again! Damn - twice in one day! - well, not quite a record!

I soooo agree with you, Georgia!! As much as I love my clothes, I would not choose my clothes over lovemaking with Virginia!! Uh unh, no contest - Virginia wins every time, which means we're both winners!!

I have enough clothes thank you! The benefit of marrying a crossdresser you can double your wardrobe, have a best friend and spouse, and all the AWESOME lovemaking you want.
Who are these women that would give up lovemaking? I do not know of 1.They must be with the wrong men. I do have a sweatshirt that has outlasted all of my relationships though.

Obviously they never included my wife in the survey, or she would have skewed the results a bit.
After 33 years of marriage, she still prefers to be jumped rather than buying a new jumper!

The sex vs clothes issue was on the "Today" show this morning. The two men on the show could not believe it but the two women said it was so true. LOL Typical males LOL
