ok well im happy because i get a week off school! but my friend came over today and as he came down stairs i was leaning on the wall watching tv, and he just kinda blurt "whoa, dude, ha, u actually looked like a chick 4 a second,"
he doesn't know i cd and so without any hesitation i silently took it as a compliment (considering i was in a tank top and pajama pants), but of course, i said " no way...trippy" because he's not the kind of person i entirely trust with big secrets, lol, so ya, that's actually the first time i got a random compliment, whether or not he knew it was on, and even though i wasn't enfemme

Haha! Yeah, people at school say stuff like that to me all the time. Especially when I'm actually wearing girl clothes.

I get made fun of sometimes. But non of my friends care.

Hi ladies,

I've encountered a few things at work. Kinda the same feeling that you got (Dallas) from your friend. It was a back-handed compliment. Here's what happened:
I was headed for the restroom, when a female I work with asked, "What's up with your hair?" Half mockingly I put my hands on my head, and asked somewhat shocked, "What do you mean? Why? Is there a hair out of place?!" With that, I dashed off to the restroom. (Maybe a bit dramatic, too)
Naturally while I was there, I combed my hair and then went back to work. As I again walked by her, she started laughing. When I asked what was so funny, she replied "Sometimes you act just like a girl!" I just rolled my eyes and continued to my desk.
Secretly I smiled, almost giddy at the compliment. The rest of that day was like riding a natural high. What a great feeling.

Hugs,
Kyra

Yeah, it happens sometimes. Just one of those things I suppose. But it's all good because you can just take the silent compliments.

Sometimes those comments make me VERY happy! The other day, a woman friend and I were walking back to work, passed a store with a nice royal blue dress in the window, and she said, jokingly, "You'd look great in that, just the color to bring out your eyes!"

It was totally out of the blue, and I'm sure she didn't know what she was saying, and I blushed! But then just joked back something or other. But I just LOVE it when something like that happens!

It's a delight to be safely "outed", too. Chrissie is so much a part of me I love knowing that people respond to her even though they don't know it.

Earlier this winter I was up in the snow with some friends, and all my clothes got wet so I was borrowing from my friends till they dried out. One guy started to go off to get a sweatshirt when his gf tossed me hers. He said something about it being too small, and she said, "It'll fit, and I he'd probably rather wear mine than yours, doofus!"

She was just 'kinda' joking, and has no idea how she MADE my weekend, but underneath, she recoginzed Chrissie. :)

Lisa, that reminded me of when Amber and I were dating. (Many, many, moons ago) Our friends always chided me for "dancing like a girl". I always played it down, but deep inside it made me feel uncomfortable.

Nowadays I dance when we're out at clubs and such, both en femme and en homme. Today when someone says, "You dance like a girl." I smile and thank them. Afterall, one can never get enough praise!
