Weird, maybe, thought re: tomboys and janegirls

It's the fashion around some places on the web to refer to CD's as "janegirls", i.e., the opposite of tomboys.

Why, I'm not sure, but I would rather be referred to as a janeboy. Even though I am well aware of the symmetry of "tomboy, janegirl", it just doesn't sound right to me.

Now that you mention it, it makes sense to me. I like Janeboy a lot better, myself, 'cause it puts the contrast together. And the other expression shoulda been, "tomgirl," of course.

We should immediately go on Wikipedia and make this known.

yeah...........I don't know who thought of these labels. just like so many other labels in life huh? if ya wanna stay home with mom and cook instead of going hunting with dad,..........you're a sisyboy and a shame on your ole man's reputation.

tomboy? doesn't quite sound right today. back then we all knew it meant a girl that competed with boys. so why is THAT okay but it's not right if a boy wants to be in girl scouts? or home ec.?

maybe it should be a different name,..but why have ANY label at all huh?

why not just be left alone so we can grow up without grief and heartache?
