Capri Pants? A Litmus Test?

The other day, my wife and I were having lunch with another couple (let's call them Jenny and Carl). Somehow the topic of capri pants came up, and Carl started to go off on how much he hated them. I piped in, because I simply don't understand them either. I do not find them attractive at all. Jenny then said "All women love them, and all men hate them" and my wife nodded in agreement.

This got me thinking, how does the TG community feel about capri pants? If you're a crossdresser, do you hate them like me? If you're transexual do you love them?

Let the debate begin!

My answer... I like them. I don't love them. I have a few pairs of them in several colors, but my favorites are my black ones (As in the pic if you click here http://216.77.188.54/coDataImages/p/Gro ... 061701.jpg (Sorry to submit you to a makeup-less pic! *LOL* - only some lipstick on)

Of course, doubt all men hate them and all women love them. Women would love them as long as the compliment her figure, I would think.

I have worn capries. In fact my wife has a blue pair that looks great on me. I have taken the trash out and put the mail in the mail box while wearing them. They are compy and do fit my curves very well. Having loss weight over the last year, I am now at a 38C-30-38.
Back in the 60's there used to be a beach wear that male surfers wore that were same as capries. They even had the little split at the bottom too. Since they were beach wear, they had no fly on the front.

Seems during the summer that's all you see, I don't like them as I don't find them sexy or fem. But then again who understands real women?. :P

Gaby's got it right . . . not all men hate them, nor do all women love them. The capris do have to compliment the wearer's figure, but personally I would much rather wear shorts, skirts, or slacks/jeans.

I do have a pair of pink capris, but I haven't worn them in some time. I like some styles of capris, but not all . . . in fact, I really dislike (ok, hate) the skin-tight versions. [-(

PS: Gaby, honey . . . you look gorgeous in that photo . . . only wearing lipstick? You don't need anything more (in cosmetics, that is)!! =D>

Shame on me!!

SL,

Shame on me! I only had some Bare Escentuals foundation powder and the copper color lipstick, not only the lipstick! (A bit of a difference, but not a huge difference, since there is no facial hair to worry about anyway, but worth making that clear)

Oh and I totally agree on skin tight capris... yuck! *LOL*

This has been discussed in another forum, and it was quite clear that not all men/women love or hate them.

Personally, I wouldn't wear them, but I've admired them on some women. ;) But definitely not on all women.

And they've even started making them for men, which seems ridiculous to me. But that's my hangup I reckon.

Heck I don't even like shorts that come to the knee, or longer. On me that is.

I can't stand wearing shorts, even long shorts.

Well -- I have several pair and love them. I would rather wear a skirt, but the capris are comfy, look good on me, and are what I wear in the summer, especially just running errands when dressed.

I also like them on women, but agree, they don't look good on everyone.

my two cents....

I have a pair that I like and in general I find them very attractive on women.

Well, I don't think they look good on any GG and I can assure you that Virginia would not even wear them to a Michael Vick dog fight!

They do say however, "there is no accounting for taste!"

Love,

Virginia

I'm not a capri fan, here in Fla we have some gals that wear amazingly tight ones...I think they are sprayed on. I don't thing thats a nice look, but thats just my opinion. Regular capris can look ok for gardening, etc. I have some shorts, but not capris. And yes, for taking out the garbage they work...heck..I have a few skorts for that. But never understood why a skirt wouldn't be preferred over capris for GGs. So, like everyone says..hate 'em or love 'em.

And Virginia..the only thing I would bring to a Vick dog fight is handcuffs and a warrant..that is so disgusting and depraved. Sorry..whoops..not the place for that comment.

Capris can look good if they are the right cut and suit the wearer. Audrey Hepburn looked elegant and feminine wearing them. I have casual cargo style three quarter length trousers that I wear with flip flops and a pretty fitted tee. They are not elegant but very practical for work and I can assure you I look feminine in them...it's all down to what else you wear with them!
