There is a link somewhere in this forum that is supposed to take you to the site for "guys in girdles". I clicked on it this morning and got non-stop spam e-mail coming out of my computer for 2 hours, until I could re-start Symantec Anti-Virus. The Trojan Horse disabled SAV so it could go about its work undisturbed!!

Charla, thanks for the warning. I'll see if I can find and remove the link to the obviously now-infected site.

The time I went there, weeks ago, it was fine.

It may have been coincidental, but after clicking on that link, I got a virus htat could not be removed with Norton AntiVirus in safe mode or AdAware...and so on. I finally had to get another computer!

Sometimes viruses or Trojans do infect web sites. A good admin will detect and get rid of them quickly.

As for what the viruses do. Some can be cleanly gotten rid of. But some do so much damage that reloading the computer is the best thing to get rid of them.

I checked it shortly after posting and found no signs of any infection. It may have been cleaned, or might have been something embedded from another site.
