I prefer to wear dresse and skirts but I thought it would be fun for once to buy a pair of trousers. What do you ladies do for when wearing trousers do you wear tights underneath socks or pop socks. As I like tights so much I would prefer to wear them underneath but any help would be welcome. Also not sure about sizeing for trousers in drab I am 36 waist and twenty nine inch leg.

Belinda what you wear for hosiery depends on how dressy/casual the slacks are, style of shoe you will be wearing with them, and your personal preference.

As for sizing, like all womans clothes, it is a bit variable depending on maker, material, style and type of fit you want. I say go shopping and try some on.

Thanks. Sorry to sound so green, but in all the years I have been buying ladies clothes I have nearly really considered trousers, many thanks for taking the trouble to reply.

I am just beginning to realise the potential femininity of trousers, I do have a few pairs but have mostly worn then as replacements for drab. I have just bought some nice grey trousers that make a suit with a jacket I already had, they look and feel great. (There will be a peace on this on my blog in the morning.)

As for what to wear underneath, I think a lot depends on what shoes you are wearing and the weather, Tights (pantyhose) can get a bit warm, pop socks look the part and will keep you cool, stockings will make you feel sexy, but no one will know you are wearing the unless they look very closely at your thighs. I rather like the look of fish nets under plain black trousers, very sexy without being too obvious.

The only time I'm in pantyhose and pants is cold days. My selection of hose will try to match the color of my pants and any pattern will tend to be subtle like you would find with trouser socks. Now it just so happens I have yet to wear fem pants and pantyhose so I talking about boy pants and pantyhose when drab.

I agree with Paula about the potential feminity of trousers. For a long time I would never consider them because they seemed like the archetypal male attire (as in the gender-role questioning "She's wearing the trousers") and my whole thing was to get as far away from that as possible. Like throw in absolutely as much femininity as possible and that's bound to make it better.

Nope. It's like sometimes trousers are just the appropriate thing for a woman to wear, like when she's busying around the house and wants something unfussy. So then, if you're wearing trousers at home while doing the chores, that's highly appropriate to being a modern woman.

On the other hand, socks do definitely get rid of "magic" of femininty to me, so I wear tights - something very feminine about tights with trousers, to me.

A couple of fresh thoughts following my little outing yesterday http://paula-paulasplace.blogspot.co.uk ... u-sir.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; the first thought is that tights (pantyhose) help to keep that nice smooth flat front (come on you know what I mean) that is even more important when wearing trousers. The other though comes from our upcoming support group meeting. We usually meet in a local gay pub, but this month for one reason or another we can't so it has been arranged that we will meet in a nearby "civilian" pub. I am a little nervous about my usual level of glamming up for this so, thinking about what most women my age would be wearing to a local pub on a Saturday night, I shall probably be wearing jeans in some combination, just t help blend in and not frighten the locals.

You don't sound green, you sound like a CD who's been a bit isolated and lacks some knowledge about some things but knows quite a bit about other things. FWIW You also sound quite womanly for a man (I mean the way you write). More so than quite a lot of people here and certainly more so than me. Well, except when the spirit takes me, and then women start talking to me as though I'm a girl.

I recently started wearing more femme pants mainly as an effort to blend in better. (Not many girls wear skirts and 4" heels shopping in the middle of a Wisconsin Winter). I will sometimes wear knee-high stockings depending on the look I'm going for. If you're going for more polished and professional look, I'd wear knee-highs, but if it is a more casual look, nothing at all would be better.

When I'm wearing pants, I will wear regular socks, if I'm going casual, or trouser socks/knee highs, if I'm wearing something a little dressier. It's really personal preference. If you like tights, go for it! I find them a little binding, so I don't wear them under anything but skirts/dresses.
As far as size goes, ladies sizes are so variable by brand and cut, you're really going to need to refer to a measurement/size chart.

We are about the same and I fit nicely into a 18P, now like all clothing try them on first as they will not tell you no.
As a choise I prefer to wear nylons under them for a smother look.

during the fall winter and spring i wear tights or pantyhose under my pants even if they are mens pants
like the feel of the material against my legs!
during the summer months i wear mostly trouser socks which look like knee highs. color coordinated of course.
and occasionally womens sock in very fem colors and designs!
