I am looking for an American Corset

Hi yer,

I am in the process of rebuilding my femme wardrobe after an absence of seven years. I was absent because I was loosing the battle of the bulge with my middle age spread. Once I got to UK Dress Size 22 I just got depressed and ate some more.

Well I am happy to say that after all that time I have managed to reduce my UK dress size to 16.

At the moment the value of the GBP versus the USD is so high that I have made three purchases in the last eight weeks and saved myself a fortune in the process. Good Corsets in the UK start at 120 GBP in the USA they appear to be 100 USD. Even with shipping costs of 30 USD that still works out at aproximately 70 GBP.

Please can you American Girl send me a URL for a Corset supplier you know to be reputable... I will be so grateful.

hugs

Kerry

read this site to learn more about corsets. Obviously most people will not be going to extremes, but corsets should be custom made to fit your body measurements, NOT bought off the shelf. But then if you DO like pain, be my guest.

I got one from this place -- very comfortable to wear and no pain. Very nice people. Their backlog is running about a month. If you want a quality perfect fitting corset, check this out.

Hiyer,

Thanks for your advice I will follow it up.
I am not into pain in any form, my corset will, as with a pair of shoes, fit without pain. I am not looking for massive waist reduction or anything unsafe. A month isnt too long, I will check that site out, thanks.

Jo, thats an interesting idea. I could try asking my sister for help. If its not too much trouble I would be interested to see that link.

Thanks again.

Hi all,

Add me to the list of people who would like information on corset construction. I'm trying to slowly learn (mostly machine) sewing and embroidery.

Hi y'all,

Well I followed up your advice. The corsets at Wasp were really good. I have seen the lady proprietor on other websites before. She has a scary waistline.

I looked and dreamed, but the prices were too high for me. After hours of searching othersites, I have finally made a bid for an item on eBay.

It looks very pretty. It is priced at $99 plus $25 postage, in their eBay sale.
The supplier is at www.meschantes.com
Thanks for all your help.

love

If you win the bid, report back with a photo of you wearing it! 8)
