For T-girls and GGs alike - Blues & Greens

Well, it turns out, ladies, that more colorful eyeshadows (greens and blues - colors that we normally swore to avoid in fears of looking like a streetwalker) are now back in style.

This Spring, expect to see more greens, turquoises and blues in the way of eyeshadow colors as well as everything else.

Speaking personally I have to say that this is most interesting! In the past 6 years I have been publicly dressing I have only worn dark or neutral colors on my eyes. But I have seen countless GGs at my job wearing green or blue recently, so last weekend I did the bold thing & I used green on my eyes. (Not along my eyebrows, but along the eyelids)

So don't be afraid to expreriment with more color, but just try not to overdo it - you don't want to look like Mimi from the Drew Carrey show! rotf

Hi Lorna,

I bought a purple group of eye shadow colors from Merle Norman at Christmas time. I love them because they really accent my eyes. A very dark purple black at the lid edge blended up to a silvery dull Lavender at the brow. My therapist thought it did not look trashy on me. I used an eggplant eyeliner on the lower edge below my eye.

It looks better than it sounds. I have only used it in the evening.

blues and greens? i think lll pass. i like a neutral eye, always have.if i feel daring i like to use a bit of purple on the inside corner of my eye lid.blended into a dark brown.im 35 yo.i just think blues and greens look trashy on me,and anyone for that matter. i wasnt a fan of that look in the 80s and im still not to this day.my 25 yo assistant wore blue eye shadow a few weeks ago.i told her if she ever wore it again id fire her.im in the fashion/beauty business.dont do it girls.its still frowned upon.

Sorry Lorna, I only just saw the thread :) I like some of the shades of blue eyeshadow but I've never tried greens. Well I'm never too old too try new shades. :)

I happen to love those colors, and would try them if I used make-up at all. I'm afraid if I tried to put make-up on I would botch it so bad I would be arrested for crimes against reality.

What??!!! I was supposed to have stopped wearing my blues and greens??!!!! Thank goodness I don't have to stop now. One nice thing about the blues and greens is that you can see them through glasses. Besides, I tend to wear things that the blues and greens go with :)

I wear Silver on top and Blue on bottom. Have not tried Green but just recently got some samples from a local rep that I want to try out. Blue, Green, Gold, Pink, and etc.

I'm thinking about doing my nails in silver, what do you think?
I really like blues and greens, but last time I had my nails done in a teal one of the girls I work with gave me a hard time that it didn't match my top. Since I wear grey a lot I'm thinking silver might be a good way to go. She suggested black, but I don't think I would like that.

Today I'm trying my emerald green nail polish. It's a very pretty color, I'm just really making a mess of putting it on. This is why I usually go to a nail salon and have it done by someone who knows what they're doing.

I bought some Maybelline "Green with Envy" just to see what it looks like...I think I like it :) I wore the yellowy green on my lids blended to the whitish gold on my brows.

One thing I did notice was that the shadow is very heavy on the pigments so a little really goes a long way. I looked like a badly painted doll first time out  so off it came and tried again. Second time was much better by using a barely tinted applicator.

Love
CL.
