Going to a wig shop next week...first time!

Hello all!
I happened upon a wig shop a few days ago and dashed right in.
The lady there was very nice and explained about private appointments, wig differences, and asked if I would like an appointment.

I hadn't mentioned I was looking for a wig, just wanted to come in and look around.

Anyway, I made an appointment and I'm not sure what's going to happen.
Will I be walking out with a new head of hair!?

I'm sure there's a bit of styling to be done and I might have to come back to pick it up.

This is all so weird! I've only recently gotten back to being comfortable with CDing and the wig business seems like a big deal.
This will be a birthday gift for myself, so I plan on following through with it.

I know I'm rambling, but I won't be mentioning this to my wife right away.
She knows I've been shopping again to build up my wardrobe, and as long as I watch how much I spend, it won't be a problem.

Any first-time wig stories out there?

Hi Allen,

I went to a wig shop first time last December. The woman that helped me too was the best. I finally got a wig that fit and I believe looks very natural on me. It was the greatest experience. I hope that yours is the same. It is the wig in the close up of me in the photo gallery.

My first wig was ordered online. My wife didn't care for it, so we went to a wig store, also in December, where the a number of Tgirls around here go to.

The lady was very nice and tried several different wigs until we all could agree on the same one.

She explained the difference between synthetic hair and human hair wigs, so I opted for the synthetic because it didn't need styling, maintained it's shape and was easy to keep clean.

I will be going to the shop tomorrow.
I've recently shaved off my facial hair which will make it a much nicer appointment!

(I was shaved when I went in originally, just so you know)

I saw that they had synthetic wigs starting around $125 and going up.
The gal there told me they have some 'mixed' wigs with synthetic and human hair, I believe.
She did also mention that they have human hair wigs, but of course these cost quite a bit.

I'll be ready to buy, but my only expectations are that it's going to be fun to see myself in different hair styles/lengths/colors and that I'm going to be nervous!
