I am so excited. I am going tomorrow evening to get my ears pierced. My wife agrees I should do it and is oing with me to make sure they do it right! she even bought me diamond studs to wear.
In my business, I won;t be able to wear both, but will be wearing one. I have almost two weeks before I will be in work type environment for a couple days (I mostly work out of my home office, but have to go to the cleints periodically) -- so will be taking out one during the day for a couple days, then putting them both back in for a while.
I can hardly wait. No more of those darn clipons...!!!

Missy, it is great you have the support of your wife. And you will enjoy them. Why do you need to remove one for work? My experience was people did not notice or did not care. And only a few said anything which included they liked them, were surprised, or why. My guess would be it will not make any difference 1 or two you will get the same responses.

Hi, I think it is a great idea, the only thing that i would be concern about is removing one of your earings just after they have been peirced.
When my ears were done the studs had to stay in for about 6 weeks, washed & sprayed with a special antiseptic, morning & evening, and turned a few times, during the day.
Yesterday, I have just brought my first set of ordinary twisted gold earings & find it funny looking in the mirror, as previously I have always worn studs
Trust that you will enjoy your new earings and I do not think that people will take much notice after the 1st couple of days, so many males are wear two earings it is almost a non-event, thank the Lord.

Missy -
I'm glad that you're going to get your ears pierced, but I disagree with you taking one of them out for a while
before the holes have completely healed. What you are suggesting - and I understand the reason behind it! - will make the healing time
longer and could also subject yourself to unwanted infections. I speak from experience - my youngest sister did the same thing *many* years ago (she doesn't remember now why she did it) but she did have infections and as a result a much longer healing time.
Don't worry what others may think about your newly pierced ears - wear both earrings with pride!

I got mine pierced yesterday and I love it! My wife dared me to get pink rhinestones, but I could'nt do it. Just plan white gold 4mm balls
Don't take one out, you are asking for trouble!

Congratulations Melyssa.
As one who didn't listen to SL, I took mine out, to wear something different. Took about 9 weeks for mine to heal.
And finding the exit hole was a pain, literally, and sometimes the post would wonder inside the ear lobe before finding that exit hole.
And there's a much greater chance of infection.
If anyone asks about the earrings, tell them they were a present from your wife and you have to leave them in 6 to 8 weeks.

Melyssa, how did it go?
Jenney, congrats to the world of having more holes in our heads then we were born with. You will enjoy.
"Don't take one out, you are asking for trouble!"
I agree, take it out and you may have fun getting it back in. I did at about 4 weeks.

It's 2007 turn on MTV or BET and watch any video that is on. Its very hip hop to have bling in both ears for males........no biggie. I for one have had both my ears pierced for 18 years . I have three holes in one ear and two in the other....and I did not do it for CD purposes but it works out well!
So I say congrats on your decision and wear em both without a second thought. My business does not even allow for one earing, I would have to wear a band aid....but if they allowed it I would definitely wear at least two earings.

I am on my own--have my own business--and image is everyting in winning new work and clients...and oh are they a conservative bunch!
So one earring is all I think I better try.
Got them Pierced Thrusday evening, so 2 days with them in. no problems at all. I forget they are there....already way better than clipons!
The girl that pierced them was very excited--she hadn't had any men in my age group get both ears done before. She was pretty funny...said it was a momentus occasion!. My wife went with me and got another piercing in her ear--up near the top.
So now I just have to wait the 4-6 weeks before I can wear some cooler ones that these! Start the countdown!!

Thank you all for your input! I keep telling her not to take one out before at least 4 weeks and I'd prefer she wear them 6 weeks....I think we've won the battle!!

Stormy, I think you may be helping Missy put them in soon if she want to take one out for the day. Keep those starter studs handy with the points to be able to get them pushed through again. It will definatly take longer to heal that way.

Donna - "It's not nice to fool with Dr. SL!"
{. . . a take on the 'Mother Nature' commercial of *many* years ago.}
Dr. SL did not lead you wrong when giving advice - bet you won't forget that again!!
Missy - I'm very glad that your piercings went well, but do pay attention to what we are telling you, as we've BTDT. Please, leave the studs in for the 6-8 weeks' healing time. You'll be glad you did - - and so will Stormy!!

I have my brows shaped and my nails done on a regular basis. I have pedicures routinely. I really want to have my ears pierced.
