tights or pantyhose?

Hi All,

I'm going to a gala tomorrow, and I'll be representing the LGBT center with which I'm involved. The mayor of Oakland (California - USA) will be speaking, and it should be a really good time.

I bought two new skirts from a place called TORRID, in the Valley Fair Mall here in San Jose. Can't decide which one to wear, but I'll flip a coin if I have to.

This is the first winter where I've worn tights instead of pantyhose or stockings. So far I've tried Leggs Microfiber tights, and I like them. They're definitely warmer but they still look very nice, and this is important for me. I really like to show my legs, and pretty stockings or pantyhose mean alot when I'm out dressed femme.

We're in the middle of a cold snap right now here in the San Francisco Bay Area, and it's likely to be in the 30's (degrees F) tomorrow evening. I know tights will be warmer, but I really want to look my best for the gala. In fact, I got a nice pair of Haynes Silk Reflections pantyhose for the occasion, and I think I'll shiver as necessary for the sake of appearances.

Will let you all know how it goes...

I think tights are good for many occasions...but for more formal occasions (a gala) I would definately go with hose. Thre are some really cool types besides good old nude out there....some with sparkls in them, some with patterns. Of cousre they cost more. But aren't we worth it?! At least thats what my wife always used on me when she was buying them for herself.

Have fun!!

I decided to wear pantyhose, and it definitely fit better with the situation. The crowd was rather elegant, although some folks came casual. I wore a full but short pleated skirt, black with grey pinstripes. I felt great wearing it.

A big band was playing, and they were terrific. Someone taught me some basic dance steps, no small accomplishment since I'm a klutz. I learned one important thing...dancing is much easier if you let the other person lead. I enjoyed having her lead me through some steps, and I didn't hit anybody either...

Pantyhose are definitely more sexier than tights. Wear a petticoat of some sort under the skirt for warmth in the cooler months. I do here in Fla. for the six weeks of cool weather.
