I don't know just how fashionable this is but the guy on the website below makes quite a case for men hiking in skirts in warm weather anyway) rather than pants. However it would not be crossdressing in his view.

Personally I didn't like the skirts he suggests but the idea has some merit I think

Seems someone took an idea from the Polynesian Warrior Cloth (traditionally known as the pareo, lava lava, or sarong) and made a plainer uglier version, with pockets etc.

When last in Hawaii, at a show, one of the men demonstrated how the sarong could be worn in different ways, much like the guy in your link.

So, no, if you can't tell, I don't like the look of his skirt, but hiking in a skirt is fine by me. I wouldn't wear a heavy kilt either.

Personally, I think this particular 'skirt' is the most ridiculous item of clothing I have ever seen, and had to be designed by a non-cd male!!

I've seen men wearing the Utilikilt, though, and I think it's as stylish as it is practical.

I have seen several different "guy skirts" on different sites. You gotta give them credit for wearing them. They are going against the society grain also. But I agree these types are a macho masculine male type of garments in design, function and materials. They would be nice when getting down an dirty where more delicate type of skirt would soil and rip easily. Like accessorized with durable femme top, a tool belt, and steel toe work boots in a nice lavender with lipstick and nail color to match.

I will stick to my denim or or an old skirt for work around the house.

I saw a recent post on Google news about a Dutch company that is making a Utlikilt type Work skirt for men.

Sorry to be so lame in this post but isn't "hiking skirts" raising them so that the hem doesn't get dirty or wet?
