I started when I was 6 years old and my parents encouraged me.I knew I was feminine since I was born and always differant from my twin brother Ed.My mom noticed it at first and than it was my father. My parents and I had a talk when I was 6 years old and loved it when they encouragged me to crossdress. My mom took me shopping for clothes and loved wearing them. When I was 13 about to turn 14,I told my parents I wanted to go full time because I felt comfortable as my en femme side. They understood and said yes.It did happen on my 14th birthday,my mom picked me up from school taking me home dressing as my enfemme side and took me to a salon to get my hair, make up and nails done.I did love it and never went back.

The bad part was I lost my male friends and they said I betryed them after telling them I went fulltime.I am verylucky to have my female friends, they started to treat me as one of the girls and still do when I went fulltime when I was 14.

Colleen,

I too at 14 was aloud to dress by my mother but it was a secret that had to be keep at home. In time after a year or so she did start taking me out in fem as I guess she started feeling more comfortable with me. I never did go full time. (--)

I am also legally female,I went through the name change process when I was 15 years old.It was very hard on my brother Ed,felt he lost a brother and a heart to heart talk with my parents helped out.My parents do not regret doing this to this day and always been supportive.

At least there are some happy stories

You were so lucky to have understanding informed parents, that allowed you to be the girl you were meant to be, I was not so fortunate. Would be impossible to say how different my life could have been. Jean Marie

Collen, I wish I were you! I was dressed and treated as a girl until I was almost 6. Then my Dad stepped in and insisted that I be a boy. I cried so much when my long blond hair was cut short. I always had to have short hair after that. Well I'm over it now at 60+, but for many years having that under my skin really messed me up. Trying to be the kind of guy my Dad wanted me to be, yet longing to be the girl my Mom wanted. Now I'm not quite either but I do understand where my mind is now. You were lucky!

Hugs Edyta

You are such a lucky girl- to have parents that could deal with your desires.
My Mother was fairly understanding about my crossdressing and helped me within limits. Helped me dress and did my makeup serval times but she also told that I would always have to discrete.

Dad on the other hand just couldn't cope- thought I was some sort of freak and That I had some illness. When He talked about me he used the typical names- "Nancy, Sissy, " etc. The nice thing is today we do get along.

Hi Colleen,

You are certainly fortunate, however, I need to broach a couple of questions and of course you are under no obligation to answer and would not be the first to tell me to mind my own business.

You state that you are "legally" female. Can you expand on that as to what that means and how old are you? You do not have to answer specifically but are you a teenager, early twenties, just curious.

We do look forward to your sharing with us. There was a show on TV several months ago about a very similiar situation where, twin boys "went their separate ways" so to speak and with similiar results. The "other" brother finally excepting the fact that he had a twin sister now instead of a brother. It definitely lends a lot of credence to the fact that "we" are born this way.

Thanks for sharing with us and hope you will stay and continue to share your "magical mystery tour," with us.

Love.

Virginia

I am 29 years old and the Judge saw Me as female which was also changed on my birth certificate when I went through my name change when I was 15 years old.

Hi Colleen

I have to agree with some of the other posts, you are extremely fortunate to have parents that allowed you such freedom, and gave you such support.

I must say I am also a bit jealous, thinking on how much pain, tears and selfdoubt could have been spared or prevented, in my case, as well in the case of so many others. I am happy for you though.

as a dear friend of mine would say - You go - girl!
