Son Saw Me in a Skirt

He is staying with us for the summer. I had come out to him earlier, and he is an open minded kid with a transgender friend, but I had not been dressed in front of him before, so this was something of a milestone. I wasn't fully dressed, just a khaki skirt, nude flats and an apron, really more of a man in a skirt look, but I was relieved, nonetheless, that he took it as a non event.

I guess that's the merit of preparation and baby steps. Like you both must have made yourself ready for it so that you were able to let yourself out and he was able to cope.
Nice job!

Anthony, we often post about baby steps , but reading your post, the thought struck me, that these baby steps sometimes are a good idea for ourselves; not just the people we are coming out to. It gives us time to breathe, and wrap our own head around the situation.

I am glad it went well for both of you.

Hi April. It must be comfortable for you to have been open with your family and it sounds that a lot of preparation and right timing played a role in being able to do this.
I only wish that I could be so open with my family. My wife has known of my dressing all the time, however I will never feel comfortable telling my children. I can only wish that one day this may change.

Requal, In a way it's a product of a whole life. Whatever disagreements we may have, my son is very much an individual, and an independent thinker.
