Women of power

It's very seldom that Shayla can come out(read my beginnings). In the meantime, I'm learning that she's a professional business woman who still like to have fun. Shayla really loves to emulate the style some of the most powerful women like Oprah, Michelle Obama and Condi Rice. Not to mention classy tv moms like Clair Huxtable. Powerful men in the office are one thing, but there's nothing more enthralling than the commanding pressence of a woman in charge wearing the sharpest business skirt suit along with a silky ruffled blouse, high heeled shoes that stop men dead in their tracks when you hear them clicking down the hallway. And silky flesh toned stockings that make her legs shine at every strut. Sigh, and at the end of the day Shayla still yearns to some day come home to her prince charming waiting to rub her feet and draw her a bath after a long days work.
What are some of the best places to look for business attire for plus size women, size 22W?

Shayla, you found one with Dress Barn. There is also Avenue, Lane Bryant, JC Penny's, Macy's, Dillards, etc. A formal business suit is getting harder to find but you can do well with separates. Just go shopping in all your familiar stores and see what they offer. For mail order (not necessarily the best quality, there is Jessica London, which is one of a family of mail order catalogs/stores.
The last time I was in the office, I wore a skirt, blouse and cardigan. I was dressed the same as the other ladies for the meeting I attended. The cardigan was knowing the meeting space was going to be cold otherwise I would have left the sweater behind.

Hi,
Oh dear wonder what I am then spos im not classed as one of the powerfull women you have in mind yet none the less I hold a good ranking with in the groups im involved with and have people work for myself and take charge of some very responsible positions and even the men have to tow the line as well ,
would that be good enough for you , now the dress code oh heck does that ..have ...to come into it as well , oh well I spos the best will be my ranking as an officer in the Navy side of it as a
lance Corporal and the dress is very imposing and smart ,in a skirt as well , would that work ,id rather that than be a civilian . oh well that's me ,

Shayla,
I so crushed on Claire Huxable loved her style and class.
As others stated Jessica London is a great place, but also you can find clothes in larger size at Ross dress for less. They tend to have the skirt suits up to 24 I think, although in my experience I've found that I may need a skirt size 14 but a jacket size 16. Which Jessica London and other online retailers you can buy jacket separate of the skirt. Other girls will just buy the size to fit their torso and have the skirt altered.

Noeleena, I hope some day you post a photo of yourself in uniform in the gallery. Office skirts are smart, but really, can't beat a woman in a uniform.

I have found that Dress Barn is a fantastic store for items, but Macy's will provide you with a larger selection. In both stores, the staff will be very helpful to you and will provide whatever assistance you need, whether in color selection or style. Just as and the answers will be given to you.

I would love to have a couple of the jacket - skirt combinations.
They look so nice and since I have been a business professional all my life I would feel like a professional woman when dressed.

ahhh, I just love the look of a powerful woman in a business suit.
For years Carly Fiorina was my hero, but I guess now that she has entered the race for President I can't say that without entering the forbidden realm of politics.

I do too! So very much.
But I would much prefer a skirt rather than trousers.
Not only do I want to present myself as a mature woman but a professional one as well.
I believe that a woman should be in a skirt or dress. When dressing as a woman, that's how I want to be. No pants!

I do hope you didn't mean to say that the way you did, because that is an extremely sexist remark.
If you did mean it, you had better duck and run . . . and very quickly!

No, I as a woman( Martha) prefer skirts and dresses.
Love being in a skirt or dress!
No sexist remark intended! Didn't know I was making one!
