That's a beautiful dress Karin. I was thinking of wearing something similar for Halloween, maybe one of those poodle dresses that seem to be popular, although your dress is much prettier. I love prom dresses, and maybe will get one. Recently I've bought a few items from HSN, which is one of my fav things to do while home dressed. I like a lot of women there, especially when they are showing off nice clothing, or ideas about make up. I bought a nice gold glitter one piece suit, that comes with a belt. Looks like something you could wear to a club. I have to get my roommates to take some pics this weekend. Also, I really like faux leather, so I have some nice tight pants I bought from Ebay, and a pretty purple jacket from QVC, not to mention a blue satin blouse from them too. I'm not promoting those sites, just where I buy some things, cause it's easier than going to the stores. I do buy some cheap clothes from 99 cents stores, and makeup too, but I need to buy some better quality makeup.

Well, a couple of days ago but they were male jeans and gave me a surprise. Over the years I've bought the same style of Levis. Up and down as my weight/waist measurement changed 42" down to 34" and back up again, style 221 short leg was fine. Well this current campaign of weight loss plus HRT suggested I should go for a 36". Yes it fitted my waist perfectly but was my butt hard to squeeze in? So next time do I have to look for girl jeans?

Mine is in black. If this works out I may search for another one close to this style.

I think double knit, if that is what it is should be very comfortable. I have a double knit dress and love wearing it but it is sleeveless with permanent "farmer's tan", and with permanently larger shoulders and biceps I need sleeves to cover that, and believe a flutter sleeve is probably a good way to hide some of this. These are half cap sleeves that seem to be kind of roomy, I think though I will find I need a sleeve that covers most of my bicep to cover the tan line. the size 16 equates to a 33-36" waist and allows enough shoulder room to fit. Anyway the dress would be cute with the right tennis shoes, with flats, (I do not like the way my feet look in flip flop like flat sandals) but casual pumps might work and I also like the longer hem line which will cover to just above the knees which will hide some of the muscular thighs - they aren't large but they are not as thin as a woman's. I am wondering though if it will fit too loose now that I am at my correct weight, if so a belt or a smaller size in the future will be called for.

Anne, don't worry about your thighs showing a bit. Remember that the majority of women do not have thin thighs. That is why they are curvey. Show off the thighs a bit with a nice pair of nylons when in your new dress, it will look fabulous. A nice pair of pumps would lool great to complete the outfit.

Hugs,

Erica

Got the dress and tried it on first thing, I think it fits perfectly, the hem line falls an inch or two below the knees but that is alright. For years I have wanted some kind of casual everyday dresses that can be worn anywhere and though I have no plans to venture out a braver soul or a woman could and would wear this dress just about anywhere - work, shopping, home, on a date, out to eat etc. Now a dress is a bit dressy now a days as women are opting more often for slacks, jeans, and shorts or even a skirt and a top to be even more casual. I suppose this is being kind of dressy but I suppose that is why they call it a dress - kidding but kind of true today. Still it could be worn around the house. I really like it and am tempted to order it in another color but in a limited wardrobe I should really look for something similar in a slightly different style.

I got black, I do look good in dark colors. the bodice has the V perfect for showing off my gold anchor necklace. There is a slight gathering or scrunch at the bottom of the V just atop the breast, then the A-line starts in a seam that goes all the way round about 2" below the breasts. The knit is sort of like a very nice jersey and is also a little stretchy something I find to be very comfortable. So if Men want to wear dresses like me, they can find dresses that look nice and feminine that do indeed fit well. I am pleased.

I do have my A cup bra which gives the appropriate shape to what breasts I have that are all mine which I like much more than jel inserts from walmart $15.00. I don't even have my wig on just kind of styled the hair parted centrally with bangs sweeping to each side and over the front, small gold hoops and some lipstick. I do have on my court pumps which are about 1.5" heels which are reasonable, also black because they go with just about any color in a limited wardrobe. think I will put on some pantyhose too as suggested as it is a little cool. All for now. I love shopping on line - bought it from the dress shop on amazon only took a couple days to get here - $30. total.

Bought new dresses today

Post by Jackie K. »

The last couple days, I've felt very feminine and sexy and wanted to buy myself something pretty. Ended up buying two beautiful dresses online from VS. later today heading to GW Boutique to find myself some skinny hip hugger jeans and who knows what else. Also heading to Kohls to find myself a couple new bras.

Yahooo!!!! Sounds like a blast.

If you have the hips for the jeans to hug, I am really jealous!

Have fun with the purchases.

Have I mentioned lately the joys of wearing custom made dresses? I know, it's one of my favorite topics to talk about, so you can tell me to be quiet already :P
As much fun as it is to wear a nice fitting dress, that feeling is magnified 10 times when you have one that is made exactly to your preferences.
Congratulations on the new dress Anne!
I think there is somewhat of a tendency now to think of wearing dresses only for special occasions but I see nothing wrong at all with wearing one just around the house. They can be incredibly comfortable and practical, so why not?
