I tried to do a search on Google but didn't have alot of luck on that one Merinda. Didn't have alot of luck looking for CD'ing songs there either. There's got to be more but I'm just drawing a blank.

merinda, I think you are thinking of: "shame and scandal in the family" by Sam Elliot. But I'm afraid the lyrics aren't as you recall them. Check google for lyrics under that title.

Night of the iguana

Post by Tea Cake »

Hi Cami! happy solstice( well almost)!----so I remember seeing an Athens Ga singer: Vic Chestnut in a club with his band and they sang a country-punk song about the Aussie underwear salesman...he was a character from Night of the Iguana(the Tenesee Williams play--also a great film)-----so sitting around thinking of more ---all at once I remebered a part from Catcher in the Rye where a scene through a hotel room window is described of a CD transforming...and hey wasn't there a part in THe Basketball Diaries(the book version) where the main character used to happily dress up in drag to make love to his ladyfriend---oops guess I'm getting off the subject of music. Hope you're enjoying these mid-summer nights-----bye for now--- 8) Tea-cake

The Guess Who did a song called "Glamour Boy"

My favorite line is:
"For thirty five thousand dollars you can look like your sister tonight"

Dylan - Jet Pilot:
Well, she's got Jet Pilot eyes from her hips on down.
All the bombardiers are trying to force her out of town.
She's five feet nine and she carries a monkey wrench.
She weighs more by the foot than she does by the inch.
She got all the downtown boys, all at her command
But you've got to watch her closely 'cause she ain't no woman
She's a man.
Oh yes and in "Draft Dodger Rag" by Phil Ochs "...And I always carry a purse...".

I could have sworn I heard the line "my brother carries a purse" in "Gee, Officer Krupke" in West Side Story, but it doesn't appear on the official lyrics website.

And I guess just about anything by Boy George counts, in a way ;) Plus, lots of Lou Reed and David Bowie lyrics touch on the topic in more subtle ways than the tunes cited above.

p.s. for 25 points, what does "high heeled sneakers" mean?

OK, time's up. In the 50's-60's, "high heeled sneakers" was South Side Chicago slang for diaphragm.

The 25 points stay in the bank.

'charles have you never craved to appear on the front of the daily mail, dressed in your mothers bridal veil?'
from 'the quen is dead' by the smiths.
And you thought I was dead.

Does Dancing Queen by ABBA count????

When ever I went out to a bar with a jukebox, someone would play Dancing Queen and eveyone would look at me, so I kinda figured it had to do with being a drag queen. I know it really doesn't but I can dream of being the Dancing Queen.
