Snip -- Now a'days they keep hens in coops, and snip their beaks to keep them from injuring the other hens in the coop. Not a nice thing. Think about it when next you buy eggs or chicken to eat. When they take them to slaughter, they cram the debeaked chickens in small coops that they can't even stand erect in, three or four to a coop. Then they take them into the slaughter room, slit their necks, hang them from a hook and rip the feathers from their dead, bloodied bodies. Then gut them, quarter them, keep the backs and lower wings for boiling and stripping the flesh from to make chicken tenders for people like Sonic and McDonalds by cooking the meat, then chopping and forming the chopped stuff into their preferred shapes. Other byproducts are often added, like skin and the insides. YUM ,YUM. YUM. Pilgrim's Pride and others have processing plants in SE. Oklahoma and SW Arkansas. I followed a truck load of chickens in such condition to the processing plant between Idabel and Broken Bow, Oklahoma, and watched the doomed fowls as the truck and trailer turned into the offloading area. Then I went to dinner and had chicken stir fry and chinese dumplings with chicken livers. Ummm boy, good.
