Who's going to light the Olympic flame?
My first thought, Bradley Wiggins, winner Tour de France, but he's racing in the olympics.

Possibly, Sir Roger Bannister, first to crack the 4 minute mile.

Don't think it'll be so glamorous as that lol. I don't think they've announced anything yet, but theres lots of talk of... Beckham having a big role tonight?!? I don't wanna be a downer, but surely there's better choices Gah. Not long till we find out tho :)

Many congrats to you brits here, your countrymen and women are doing a smashing job of it.

Murray beating Federer in tennis (and at Wimbledon no less) was a huge deal.

congrats andy murray for the gold good show!
and yes the btis are doing well and all should be proud!
i dont know i any one sees it this way but when i look at the listing of medals by country i add together the old soviet block that gives me a better reading and that gives them 57 medals right up there!
feel bad for m maroney but that why we play the games nothing is a given even though all the experts(so called) gave her the gold in the vault before she got to london!

Oh woweee. =D>

I've always loved the Olympics and in all honesty I have to admit to wondering if we'd dork it out or screw things up, maybe just paranoid but we have a history of taking ages to build stadiums and infrastructure etc. I have got to admit. I'm totally blown away by these games =D> =D> I loved the opening ceremonies, and the sports have been wonderful. I don't remember seeing so many records getting hammered from all angles before? Weightlifting, rowing, cycling and swimming. And our athletes in particular? Wth happened? So many amazing stories and there's such a buzz here about it, I don't think this country will ever see another moment like this. Wonderful stuff \:D/

Clean up the mess? What mess? Heehee. We got that covered hon, the londoners get to charge us visitors six quid for a cup of tea and five hundred quid For a hotel while we visit the games, and in return they pay a bombload of council/property tax for the next 8000 years to pay for all this party and clean up....

It's interesting to see how the states does it's medals charts compared to us here, you guys do it on total medal count, and we do it kinda like the football tables where it's done by golds first, then silvers and so on...

At the moment I like our way cos it puts us in third place instead of fourth

The olympic2012 site can't be wrong!?... rotf ....
