I have felt the same way all my life too. I am now 52 and on the recent advice of a psychiatrist am trying once again after a gap of seven years to come to terms with my "other self".
You asked "Is it a weakness or an addiction?" Neither in my opinion. It takes strength to control it and it is more of an obsession if you cant. It ruled my life when I should have been doing something more productive.
Suicide is no answer, you'll die, maybe. But you'll still be a crossdresser, albeit a dead one.
This may not be what you want to hear, but there is no cure, no easy way out. Dispel the guilt, identify your true personality, and get on with the rest of your life.
I am always depressed when I read stories like this. Life is so precious and to just throw it away? Thank goodness I never felt this bad. I have a (non-MB member) CD heterosexual online friend. His GF casually dismissed all this: "They're just clothes" she said sensibly. She loans her sister stuff, she loans her GFs things, she gleefully declared her BF's stuff, starting with his tee-shirts and socks, unisex when they moved in together. So it is no big deal if he wants to wear some of her stuff. I wish there were more like her in the world.
AAH Chantelle, MON Ami You are ever so kind darling. Are we of the same heritage, or just in love with French names? Anyway it's nice that you are here.
Chantele, Wouldn't it be nice if all the world could accept people as they are? I know you can quit if you really want to I 've done it 100's of times.
Has your wife seen the forum, Do you have and children?
Six feet is not too tall to go out. I remeber a tv commercial with George Burns, this gorgeous scantily clad girl walks by him , he looks at her and then the camera, then says "to tall". i myself go mad over tall women, nobody yet has been too tall. I'm 5'9" went out 6'2' girl in high school. We may have looked funny but we had the greatset time.
I also think of the last line in" some like it hot." Jack Lemon is a crossdresser ends up a little boat with this guy and the guy proposses to Jack, Jack takes off his wig and says I'm a guy. The guy looks at him , shrugs his shoulders and says "nobodys perfect".
This forum is not perfect and neither are any of us , but we are here together looking for answers to help us get where we want to be , at ease wether we are dressed or not, help in learning how to be more passable, or help learning makeup, or SO approval.
Any problems that you feel you need to talk to some one this place is always open and it's very good price. You are acepted here as person first and crossdresser second. I hope that you can come to terms with some of the issues you have stated, and that we can be of some assitance. .......Hugs and Kisses.......kristen
