Thanks! for all you have done!
Last night at about 8:30pm I got home sat in front of the TV. House was dark- thought my (soon to be ex-wife) was sleeping as she has had some type of flu bug. Heard water runnning, no problem she took a bath and its the tub draining but not for ten minutes, went upstairs both tubs were on full blast, all three sinks full blast and when I found my wife I asked her what she was doing she --`said I was guilty and I should not have put the hairdryer next to her head to wake her up because she did not feel good and needed her sleep -SAY WHAT??? I just got home, she became beligerent that I had done this. My only recourse call her mother they came over and we soon decided she needed to go the the Emergency Room = too make a very very long day short. X-Rays then Cat Scan and MRI reveled a sigificantly swollen right frontal brain - Thank God - no tumor, plus pnemonia and some "nodules" in her left lung. Neuroloist and Neuro-Surgeon visited, could not explain brain swelliing with no visible mass (tumor) are currently doing extensive blood tests.
My question: "Dr. how long ago could this have started based on size of swelling?" Answer "Not sure but best guess - six to nine month!"
BINGO
When did marital problems start? Six to nine months ago.
Seems that this is the area of the brain that deals with emotions and empathy and relationships, etc. Hello!!!!!???
She will stay in ICU for several days as some times she is lucid and others she is speaking jiberish. May have to do brain biopsy, but probably as a last resort. Will try drugs and other thngs first as Neuro-Surgeon said this is soooo very rare to have swelling that bad and no "visible" tumor and none of the test MRI or Cat Scan showed any growth in her brain, then they added "that they can see."
It wasn't me after all!! I love her and if you have never been in the situation of having to look at a loved on in the ICU with all kinds of tubes and wires going to and from them to all kinds of monitors - girls it ain't easy!
Well I have had three hours sleep in the last 30+ so ---prayers and God bless us Everyone!
Love you all,
Virginia

Virginia,
My thoughts are with you and your wife. I hope they can figure this out and that she will recover. Having spent the majority of 2001 with my mother in the hospital, I know how hard this kind of thing can be.
I will hope for a positive outcome.

Hi Virginia,
Oh my God.
I'm so sorry. I pray she's ok and if you need any support you know you can get it here.
I'm glad it sounds like your marriage may also be saved by this, but more than that you two know why you fell in love with each other. It's your dedication to your marriage and to each other.
I don't think she could be in better hands.
God Bless you both!

Hi Virginia--
I'm glad you can do whatever needs to be done--hospital stays, examinations, and so forth. It sounds like you have good medical coverage.
I imagine it might have taken a lot of effort to persuade her to go in for a check-up, but you did it. I had a friend with various illnesses that I took care of for over a year, and even getting him go to scheduled appointments was like pulling teeth.
There is some comfort in the middle of all this, knowing that your actions were not necessarily the cause of all this disharmony you've been going through. Break-ups often bring out totally irrational behavior, so who would know the difference? I'm glad your wife is at least on the road to treatment.

You girls are FANTASTIC!!!!! I love you all!! Just a brief update. A fifth Dr. who specializes in infections drew me a brief picture today of the brain and said that her right frontal lobe and a small portion of her left frontal lobe really "lit-up" on the MRI but there was no associated tumor present and the staff was somewhat bewildered as (it was like they had never seen any area that large "lighting up" and no associated tumor).
My brother-in law's wife said that she has had two freinds who lately have been diagonised with West Nile Virus and my wife seems to have all the same symptoms - they are testing my wife for that as well!
Again, Girls thankyou from the bottom of my heart for your prayers and concern, I love each and everyone of you more than you can know!
Love,
Virginia
