I love to have shaved legs. I prefer to epilate or wax, as the result is better and i do not need to shave again after a few days, even it hurts much more - beauty has its price ;-)

I also shaved throughout the whole year. I just got one comment on it this summer, as a coworker asked me about it, while we where on a company community event this summer. He asked me: "Do you shave your legs" and I just replied "Yes". No further comments - even I don't know what he thought about it. Well, to be true - i don't mind.

Beside this I started to shave my body hair too, and I love that feeling too. I also tried waxing and it was less painful than I thought.

Since I had laser hair removal last year, what little hair remains on my legs is fine and extremely easy to shave once a week. I absolutely love it! (Now if only my forearms had responded better to the laser #-o )

I shaved mine tonight before coming to work. I've been doing it intermittently since before Halloween. I tried waxing once before, but that was a bit expensive. If I'm going to spend that much money, I might as well go in for laser hair removal. Face first, though! I can put up with the occasional discomfort of shaving my legs if I could do without all this crud on my face.

I keep mine looking the "best that they can be" shaved and with a nice lotion applied to keep a smooth look and feel during the day.
I also play a lot of golf in the summer month in the North East and a abundance of it in Fla during the snow months. With the shaved legs, I a able to keep a nice tan on them so that diring the wam months, I have no need to wear nylons or pantyhose. The tan eliminates the need for pantyhose.

I've been shaving my legs and underarms intermittently now for over a year. Love the feel with whatever I wear. Plan to shave again in the morning to go with my new undies. lol

I just shaved all over (except for the back! ) for the first time and I love the feeling. But 2 days later it is feeling all stubbly so I am shaving daily now. I went out this morning to get wax - didn't get very far! Not enough hair to wax!

How often does everyone else have to shave (except for you lucky ones who did the laser treatment)?

How do you get rid of the hair on your back? Do you get somenoe else to wax it for you?

Hugs and Kisses,

No doubt about it, a nice smooth body is the way to go. The frequency of shaving is dependent on a couple of factors. How dark you hair is and how 'really' smooth you want to feel. I'm lucky with being fair so I usually shave everywhere I can reach about once a week. Liking smooth legs keeps me shaving them about once every 2-3 days. I usually use a conditioner when shaving as it really helps in minimizing and redness in sensitive areas and leaves the skin smoother. After drying, I will apply a moisturizer all over or just over my shaved areas. One caveat though, the stubbly feeling doesn't play well for your SO either so as long as she is OK with it, keep that to a minimum. You do need to get into a routine before you can become a "smooth operator". I've been doing mine for about 6 years now so it's second nature to me.

As for the back, unless you are a contortionist, I would recommend a periodic waxing if you are up for that. Never had a need to get that done ( [-o< thankfully) so no idea how much pain that would be. Any waxing requires minimum growth because there has to be something for the strips to grab hold of.

Dolly, I never considered what others might have to go through. Sorry to hear about your plight. I never had a tremendoius amount of hair. What I do have, laser has mostly gotten rid of. Shaving was not a favorite past time of mine. Now thankfully it is mostly something from a "past" time.

I just recently started shaving off my unsightly body hair again. Can't wait for the unbearably irritating period of time when the hair grows back . Any tips for keeping the itching to a minimum?

Amy,
Itching is a downside... sometimes had that when I first started shaving. But, after you've been shaving on a regular basis it will tend to got away... can't really say how long that will take tho.
In the meantime, I can tell you that using lotion does help. Use some right after shaving and if possible reapply when the itch returns.

I've been body hair free for over two years now, and would never consider going back. Lucky for me that I'm fairly smooth to begin with, so I really only have to shave my legs, underarms and bikini area. I do like the smoother legs, so I try to shave them every 2-3 days, the rest only need a weekly touchup.

Amy -

I presume you are referring to your chest and/or back hair? If so, consider trimming the hair and that should reduce or eliminate the itching. The hair is not being completely removed by trimming, while it is when shaving. Applying moisturizer will keep the remaining hair feeling soft - not stubbly.

If you are referring to your legs and underarms, etc. - consider using a shaving gel, like Skintimate, while shaving. No need to apply any moisturizing lotion after shaving; however, do apply lotion after showering to keep the skin soft.

If your trimmer is waterproof, you can use the Skintimate Shaving Gel on your chest and back, also.

I shave my legs all year around and I wear shorts in summer - no one even notices even though I have done this for 30+ years.

I used to swim at a national level where shaving was an everyday occurance - I never found the need to stop. I'm not a hirsute person, I don't have any chest hair and my other bodily hairs are a very light blonde. If anyone asked me about my legs I'd say "So What!".

enjoy it - I do
