DO ANYONE THINK WE WERE WOMAN IN A PREVIOS LIFE

General talk about CD/TGing and gender topics that aren't necessarily fun things we do while en femme, or for gender-driven discussions.

Janis

An interesting story. Yes, I've occasionally wondered if I was a woman in a previous life as part of my earlier reconcilliation about why I am the way I am. Although I can't claim any stories like yours but it would make sense to me that I might have been in some way or another. If not, perhaps in my next life I'm destined to be female. I could live with that!

Well Janis I'm not sure if I was a woman in a past life but I'm sure that I hope to be a woman in my next one.

Do you think we have a say in our gender?

If so that's fine by me,

Jan Wilson.

PS I do like your name!

Janis,

It sounds to me like these people who have suffered the incredible loss of a daughter are looking for a way to bring her back. It would be nice, if one lost someone so dear, to find a way for them to come back.

There are several problems with the reicarnation theories. The first being, if there is an eternal soul living the lives of different people, who are we really? Are souls just blank templates that hold together a mortal being, only to take th form of the next being they happen to become?

The following idea was taken from "Waking Life" although it is not a direct quote.
Waking Life wrote: Also, with the population doubling every 40 years, 50% of the people born in the last 40 years would have to have new souls, even if the entire population living 40 years ago was dead, and thier souls available for new lives, whch they have not. So? if everyone is not reincarnated, which they can not be because there are not enough souls, where do all the new souls come from? Furthermore, as the time goes back, it becomes even less likely with a 25% chance of having a soul older than 80 year and 12½% chance of having a soul over 120 years.
I find no confort in beleiving I might have a second hand soul, and would wonder who, what and where is my eternal soul, that contains my and mine alone, eternal lifeforce if in fact I have one.

Love always,
Elizabeth

It's always so interesting to consider items like this.... I love the way it provokes thoughts and encourages discussions.

I'll give the short answer to it..... no one knows for sure! Some strongly believe in the theory of reincarnation, others give it some consideration, still others dismiss it without further comment.

There are some religions that state it as fact. You keep coming back till you get it right.... whatever that is!

I try to keep an open mind to most things, and on this subject, I do know that someday I'll have my answer. But, I have to say that if I'm coming back.... I do hope I'll have the chance to do it as a woman! :)

To my personal intuition, there is only one soul, and every being in existence shares that soul - each one of us has 'incarnated' as each other one of us, as cats, atoms, galaxies, deities, etc. I also don't doubt it's possible for one incarnation to partially 'share' memories of one or more other incarnations - this is part of the process of reality experiencing reality. Jung wrote that we all share a collective unconscious, a wellspring of shared experiences and memories. This is because we have all been each other.

My mother went to a psychic years ago and when I went to collect her the woman took my hand and said to me "how do you like being a man?" - I said "What?" She said "you have been a woman in your last six lives" I just stood there gobsmacked!

Must explain some of the dreams I have had.

its a strange world we live in.

I've thought of that as a possible explanation for the way I feel. I thought perhaps I was a sex slave in an earlier life. However, I have read compelling logical arguments against re-incarnation. Among them is that 80% of all people who ever lived are alive today, so where would the new souls be coming from?

Certainly thought provoking stuff!

Hello-
Great thread-
My thought on the last post- Did you ever consider that earth is not the only place we re-incarnate to?? Just another perspective I'm kind of leaning towards- if there are billions of planets, this can't be the only one I could be a girl on

Great thread I would like to buy it, but in away my engineers mind agrees with whoever it was who was running the #'s about the souls and how there would not be enough souls to go around as the population continues to doubles, but maybe new ones are made too.
Wasn't there some Yogi who said we keep coimng back until we reach Nirvana, that perfect place. All a great thought and keeps the black hole of death away since we will be reincarnated and we'll get better each time. Now as a woman? sure why not I for sure will take it.
I remember years ago running in to a black lesbian who said she worked with General Lee in the Civil War and was a Gladtiator before that. who am I to argue. Any way neat reading and It sure is spokie what Janis had to say. ..Sallee
