going out and the many outfit changes

going out and the many outfit changes

Post by Penni SO »

:) :) :) :) :) Hi ya Gals.

Hope your all well and most of all loving who you are.

I went to the Chameleons club meeting, and have resolved the fact that for me to get ready to go anywhere I need at least 2 hours,2 hours as a busy mum I don't have. When I know I'm going out I mentally picture myself in an outfit I will wear. However I put the outfit on and you guessed it ,it does'nt look right.
Last night I tried on 5 put together outfits before I was happy with what I had on.The bed was covered in clothes,my jewllery box was upside down trying to decide what goes with what the best.Marie was'nt dressing for the meeting as 1 of our daughters was going to babysit and she does'nt know that Marie exists. So Marie did'nt help,in and out of the bedroom, have'nt you made your mind up yet....

Marie always looks great in whatever she wears, however she is 6ft,slim and a b cup breast.I'm 5ft2,16 D cup and a little chubby around the hips,so for me everything must look right.

O.k is this just a me thing or do your lovely ladies go through the same thing.

We have club photo's on site on our forum if your wanted to check out our last night meeting.
It is a new topic area 2nd from the top.

Hi Penni--
Still happens. at least once a month. It is a strange thing to have happen, as there is no comparison in my 'boy' life. There, I know what I want to wear, I put it on--done. There might be one shirt change. Thing is, maybe I do change my mind as a guy, but it doesn't take long to do the switch, so I don't think about it at all.

But in girl mode, I'll look in the mirror, and it just isn't working. I might go through three changes on a bad night, although I'm sure there's been worse nighs than that in the past. Yes, clothes all over the bed--it's terrible when I come home.

It's gotta be right. There's a 'click' that happens inside when it is, and I have to wait for it. It's a big deal, though, to change outfits. The worst is if the pantyhose color doesn't work with the new outfit! The last year or so, I've just been going out more often with no hose. Real gals do it--I can do it. Lets my toenail polish show, which doesn't happen in hose.

The jewelry switch is usually pretty fast--silver to gold, or back again. The shoes can get into a hassle if it's heels, but I tend to wear simple slip-on shoes, either flats or low heels.

All in all, a new experience that I never imagined I would ever deal with.
It is awful to be running late on makeup, too. There are a few short-cuts I can take, but for the most part, makeup can't be rushed. There's no quick-and-dirty way to cover beards like mine. Though I have found that I can run that Norelco shaver while I'm idling in rush-hour traffic.

I have become like my older sister in the fact that even when it comes to my male clothes I will sometimes go through all my shirts to find one I want to wear. As for panties good gods I will spend a few minutes looking through the drawer and even then I will sometimes change after my shower.

Oh yea.

Friday I went through three changes. The jewelry waited until I made the clothing choice, however.

I think I would have went with my first choice except for two things. Didn't have the right shoes for the outfit, and I need a back waxing.

Well....I kinda agree with Anita about "guy mode". A shirt. pants and usually something on the feet. Whatever is clean and hanging up.....matching?, whats that? However, when Dee goes out, my bedroom looks like a botique exploded!!! Easily 6 outfit changes, even though I decided on what I was going to wear the night before. Go figure!
And as time gets short to leave, PANIC!!! But it all works out except for the mess when I get home :)

Outfit changes

I go through that process often.
Can definitely leave a mess before a final ensemble is chosen.
(Which of course has to be cleaned up when I return from the "out and about" trip.)
Peace-- Kendra Lynn.

Oh ya, my wife has come into the bed room many times and said "what the hell is taking you so long". Funny now the shoe is on the other foot, MINE. #-o

Hi Penni!! I thought that was just me. When I was doing the guy thing I never thought, just pulled out something and, checked the sox were a matched pair, and I was good to go. Now--well I am familiar with the stack of clothes on the bed routine. and the shorter the time, the more of a dither!! I have found no solution yet!!

Love, Carolynn

Penni, your experience sounds just like mine. I guess we've both got the t-shirt on that. Usually I will start thinking about what I'm going to wear a few days before (sometimes longer), if I know I'm going out. When the night before rolls around, I try on the selected outfit and when the planets are aligned properly, I'm usuallly good to go. BUT....if I find it doesn't feel right for the occasion...? First mistake. It was fine, really! Then I start making a few subtle, then not so subtle changes....... before the mind starts wandering towards a whole different outfit. Second mistake! At that point, it's a mess in the making, with the bed never large enough to accomodate all the stuff I've taken from the closet. I find the more stuff that comes out, the harder the decision becomes as to what to wear. In the end, (sometimes going through my entire closet) I find I'm almost back to where I started - but happy I've settled on something that looks good. Hmmm, don't even get me started on what happens if this sartorial indecision occurs AFTER I've done my makeup on 'going out day'. Have you ever tried changing the colour of your makeup after finishing it because the colour (or look) doesn't match your change of outfit? #-o

Now in guy mode by contrast, I'm usually done in about 30 seconds - having only decided what to wear, barely a half hour before going out the door. If on the rare occasion I'm not totally happy with my choice, oh well, tomorrow is another day.

 That is sooooo funny!

In guy mode, I grab my clothes, throw them on, and I'm good to go.

Even when I've decided on an outfit in femme, I'll look in the mirror, decide it doesn't look quite right.... and the dressing marathon is on!

I learned my lesson and will never tell my wife that she's taking too long to dress!

I don't really have this problem anymore. My wardrobe is a lot more put together than it was a year ago. I try to select my outfits long before I actually go out in them. If I do change before I go out, it's usually because I've changed my mind about something. On my last outing, I was planning to wear a short skirt, but at the last minute I got to feeling self-conscious about my legs, and I changed into a pair of jeans.
