This is a bit lengthy but I just had to tell this.
I went today (as male) shopping with my wife at the mall. We always go shopping together (although she never goes with Steffie). She got me a dress for this Saturday. However, as we were walking through Macy's, my wife went into the fur section just to try on some furs (without intending to buy). I was just waiting there (like a typical husband does when his wife shops) but I must confess the Steffie in me started prodding me to get a closer look. Steffie liked all the furs but the male side kept saying "no you shouldn't." Anyway after walking to another section and browsing, my wife and I found ourselves going back to the fur section again. My wife tried on some more furs. Well we finally found one that was under $1000. It was a white rabbit/fox fur. The price said $695. I said to her OK she could get it. So she did.
I then whispered to her half-kiddingly what about Steffie? She then said why not? Well the first thing I said to her is that I cannot afford one of the expensive ones. So she started looking around. She found this nice one that was regularly $1900 but was on sale for like $1195. I then said to her that I'm not going to buy something without trying it on. My wife never lets me try on anything femme in guy mode (and never goes out with Steffie). So I said to her why not say you are getting coat as a gift to one of your cousins? She said OK. So she started trying on a few more and then said to the sales lady that her cousin kinda had a build similar to mine and that maybe I should try on a few of the coats? So I did get to try on some of the others.
Needless to say I was happy. However then what came next took me by surprise. She then says to the sales lady: "I have to be honest with you. The coat is for my husband." Needless to say I was surprised at this. But I proceeded to try on another size for the $1195 mink coat. My wife and the sales lady remarked that the coat looked good on me and fit well. Remember now this is a guy wearing this coat! I had to pinch myself.
So we got the mink. The great thing is my wife works her second job at Macy's. With this she gets extra discounts (like employee). With all the discounts we were able to get BOTH coats for $1200 total (even cheaper than the above regular discount prices); her coat was limke $400 and mine ended up at about $800. The great thing, however, is we can pay this interest free over next 12 months (~$100/month).
OK this is enough to put me on cloud 9! However there was one more surprise. We then got protection plans for the coats and included in this is you can get a monogram inside of each coat (i.e. name). I let my wife handle that. Well she got her name monogrammed in her coat and the lady asked her what name she wanted in my coat. I figured she would put my male name but she blurts out to the lady: "Just put name "Steffie" in pink lettering along with a giant S draped around it. I was dumbfounded but oh so happy!
Surely the sales lady must have suspected by now I was a crossdresser? Well maybe not. Who knows? The important thing though isn't that I got a mink but that I think my wife came "closer" to Steffie tonight. I never got to try on clothes or shoes before in guy mode in a store in her presence but I did with these coats. I never dreamed this could have been possible. My wife didn't have to do this. I am grateful she accepts Steffie and gets clothes for me but this was beyond my wildest dreams! Will she ever go out with Steffie shopping? Who knows. I don't expect her to (I never push her) but after tonight there could be a chance that someday down the road the answer won't necessarily be 100% no.
We ordered the coats instead of taking the ones there. They will be there in our sizes in one week. I'll post a pic or two when I get. Both coats fit both of us too (although hers is a little big on me). However she said I could wear hers and I said she can wear mine. Sorry post was long but I just had to write about this!
