matching bras and panties?

Post by Brenda »

If nobody is going to see them, do you go to the trouble of at least color-matching bras and panties? I prefer higher-waisted styles and generally wear Hanes or Vanity Fair (preferred). The latter in particular doesn't come in a large selection of colors (at least as displayed at Penneys) and I've mostly bought white and beige. But the bras I bought today are either gray (print pattern) or light blue, both with black lace trim. The second actually has panties that emphasize the derriere but I don't think would sit well on my plus size body. So, white?

I prefer to color match. Nobody's gonna see but me, but what I see still has to be pleasing to me. And if I having a color match, why not match?

My wife likes to match underwear colors.

I like to if I have a match, but I sometimes don't. I think all color panties go with a white bra (the usual available color for long line bras).

Yes, in fact if I get a colored bra I try to buy at lease two matching panties to go with it. I'm like DonnaT it matters to me. <>

I normally tend toward color coordinating, which isn't exactly the same thing as color matching. I'm not a slave to buying matching sets by any stretch of the imagination, but I do like the colors and styles to work well together.

There is one exception to this general preference, however. If I'm wearing highly contrasting outerwear I may wind up picking panty and bra colors based on what I'm wearing over them. Why wear black panties if they're going to show through a light skirt or pants? And a bra strap that is designed to show or that occasionally shows should coordinate with the top, in my opinion.

I totally agree, Kimberly . . . that's part of my 'color matching' process . . . glad to know I'm not the only one who does this (besides Virginia, of course)!!

However, wearing a dark-colored bra with a light-colored blouse can be very sexy, if done correctly!

Hi Brenda,
I prefer to match them if I can. My wife and I have found that the best selection of Vanity Fair is at their outlet in Reading, PA, probably too far for you to shop at, but they have a much better selection than any of their other outlets or stores and far better prices than their other outlets. We usually drive up (several hours for us) and spend the day shopping there and the other outlet stores there. There's also a perfume outlet there that is to die for!

Like all art forms, you need to know the rules so you know what kind of statement you're making when you decide to break them! The deliberate bra reveal (whether it's a strap or a hint through translucent clothing) can be very sexy, but it can also look sloppy or crass. Mind you, the difference may be as much in the eye of the beholder so your mileage may vary.

I look for function never style, does it hold it in for example and as such my knickers never match my bra. I view it as the foundation that supports my outer clothes and the end look.

I for one prefer to be color matching if I can. But as you can buy panties in packages of 6, unless you buy all one color to match your other foundations, you end up with a plethora of colors. I like to think of my panty drawer as my 'Rainbow Keeper'.
My wife, on the other hand hardly ever matches her undergarments, unless we are going to dressy affair.

matching bras & panties

Post by Ann Stef »

I would match if wearing a slighgtly transparent blouse and/or skirt. No clashing see thru. Otherwise, I don't match unles I have a matching pair.
