Washing a wig

Post by Carol Ann »

Well today I got another lesson in life as I needed to wash my human hair wig. Now the washing and conditioning was easy but the wife put her foot down and told me NO! I will not roll and set your hair.

OK so I am on my own and now I will have to wait and see how it comes out,
gosh how do GG do that on their own?. I am willing after 2 hours of trying it comes out like crap.

Now I have no problem with my synthetic wig just wash and let dry. I believe my next wig (long hair) will be synthetic.

Does anyone else have a problem taking care of a human hair wig?. :-k

Hope it comes out nice.

I think, if I had one, I'd have to take it somewhere to get it set. I wouldn't know how, nor does my wife.

Of course, long straight hair ones shouldn't be a problem. I'd have to lose 100 lbs to look ok in one of those though.

I think I would have to agree with Donna, take it to (snow) someone and get it done. They say that human hair wigs looks nicer than the synthetic ones, but you have to really (snow) work at it and treat it just like what it is --- real hair. If you don't have the propensity for that be willing to pay the $40 - $50 to get it done at a salon!

I have (well too many wigs  ) but what (snow) I have found it that like most things, "you get what you pay for!" and the pricier synthetics are very nice and like you say, proper (snow) washing and drying and they look great!

Good luck and let us know -snow- how it comes out and - snow- and what you decide to do?! snow

Love ya,

Virginia

PS: I understand that you may have gotten some snow there? :P

Now DeeDee be nice to Virginia as she just loves to rub it in. You ask the Question "what snow", give me your mailing address and I will send you all you want.
Gosh I hope that was the last of it and bring on spring.

Now I wanted to tell everyone my wig came out pretty good the wife loves it as I think I used to many rollers in the front and top as girl it is curly.
She said it looks great and I like it better then before but that is up for debate. :-k
